OK, I know some may disagree with a name or two being on the list, but curious who the favorites are.

    1. Do G Gordon Liddy and Ollie North still have national talk shows?

    2. Q 2 should read "Which hosts do you not like"

3 Q 3 What liberal shows do you enjoy listening to. ( doesnt mean you agree with them)

I listen to Glenn on WSYR AM, SYRACUSE. I do enjoy Moron Trivia. The only problem is that it is so sad that many people are so ignorant. (I will give some leeway to foreigners)

As funny as moron trivia is, isn't it extremely sad, at the same time ? You almost hate yourself for laughing.

How does one get a recount on this poll? Bernard Goldberg in his book 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (and Al Franken is #37) listed Michael Savage as # 61 of the 100 because he is so rude.

SCARBOROUGH: All right, Bernie, let me stop you there, because, obviously, a lot of people out there are saying Bernie Goldberg's a right-winger. But you go after Michael Savage. Why do you go after Michael Savage?

GOLDBERG: Yes, well, first of all, I'm not a right-winger. I consider myself an old-fashioned liberal. I'm a liberal the way liberals used to be when they looked up to JFK and before they started looking up to Michael Moore.

But Michael Savage is on the list. He's a conservative radio talk show host with a big, loyal following. Trust me. I‘ve heard from every one of his followers by this point.

The main theme of the book, Joe, is that the culture has gotten too angry, and too nasty, and too vulgar. If I care how angry and nasty the culture has gotten, I can‘t ignore somebody like Michael Savage.

It isn't his politics. I probably agree with him on a whole bunch of things, probably on taxes, and immigration, and things like that. That's not why he's on the list. But if you disagree with him, you‘re either a moron or a stupid idiot. And that just cheapens the conversation. That's why he's on the list.

Seriously, I think I‘ve heard from every one of his loyal supporters. They're not happy with me.

Glen Beck. Rush & Savage may be the best civics teachers that I have ever had, but Glenn is the guy whose brain I want to pick about it all "after class", as it were.

    SCB,

Talk show hosts I don't like: Savage
Favorite liberal: Alan Colmes but then there aren't many others, are there (Al Franken is the only other one; do I have to count him?)

    Some observations:

Though I'm certainly not surprised that Rush did as well as he did (though I thought he might do a little better), I'm surprised that Savage is in second place. I'm also a little surprised that Hannity didn't do better. Though I agree with Hannity on the political issues (though I disagree with him on some of his choices of political candidates--his backing of Schwarzeneger, for example) he is often rude to his guests and doesn't have nearly the depth of knowledge or understanding of conservative philosophy that Rush does.

I definitely don't take Rush's apparent pomposity ("half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair") seriously, but as just the entertainment aspect. I heard him give a monologue one afternoon on the same-sex marriage issue that was absolutely brilliant, with far more depth than I've heard ANYWHERE else. I read, I think in Newsweek, once that President Reagan had said that Rush had replaced him as "Mr. Conservative". I definitely agree. There would be not nearly the understanding of conservative values in this country if he was not there. He is the reason liberals have tried to bring back the "Fairness" Doctrine when, in fact, as he says, he is equal time, he is the balance against a liberal press.

Do you not like Rush, Mike? Of course, it's your prerogative, I'm just curious.

    Not really.

Not that I disagree with him, politically, but his show sucks.

I haven't seen anybody talk for three hours and not say anything of any substance since my girlfriend Daschia and I broke up.
