My maternal grandmom would be 122 if she hadn't died in 1981! That song wasn't in her musical collection I guess. Most of the songs/hymns I know were written before my birth.

Well Rippon, it is looking like I will be returning to work on Tuesday. Sense that will mean 10+ hours out on the route, my post count will surely be in decline. I will likely level out at about an easy 4.0 however. :smilewinkgrin:

It is not a hymn, it's country, and I imagine it was popular in the 20's or 30's. My mother was born in 1900.

I don't know the rest of the lyrics, but it's a song that blames jealousy for the break-up of a relationship.

I believe that's the only song I ever remember her singing besides hymns.

She used to sing those two lines to me when the neighbor kids got a new toy and we couldn't afford one. LOL

Digging in the archives I see. I do that on occasion. My last post on this thread was made 25 months ago.

All threads here are not in the serious vein. Allow some humor in at times.
