Back from Word of Life. We had a great time. On the attached picture we are enjoying our first meal at the dining room. Lenke is wearing her cool shades because she did not want to show her bruised left eye she got on July 2nd when she fell off the steps in front of our house. She is OK now. In the middle is Lily (with her husband, Jim), a BB member, who joined the board back in 2001 but never posted - only reads. Good to be back! :type:

Briony,

Hope you have been able to warm up! Wishing you well.

Gayla,
Did you visit family or just sightsee?

Karen,
We were visiting family. All of my immediate family lives in the OKC area. One nephew lives in Durant. He didn't get to come up, so we didn't get to meet his new wife.

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 64 and raining here, 80 and more rain is in the forecast for today.

Gayla:Praying that the chemo is effective with few side effects.

Briony: Praying that you're able to stay warm, and the stomach problems end.

Not much has been going on around here. This rain is literally a godsend. We have been so dry all summer.

I brought in Fresh Fruit Cups, Blueberry Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, and Hash Brown Potatoes. Enjoy.

Today is Doctor's appointments, and grocery shopping.

Wishing everybody good friends, good health, and may God's love for you brighten your day.

Good Morning EVeryone!

Breakfast sounds wonderful Rob!

This will be spent doing bits and pieces of heavy cleaning here and there around the house. This afternoon we'll head to church. Somewhere in between we'll do school. I'm not having much luck in setting up a regular schedule, but we are managing to get things done.

Ya'll have a good day!

"red sky in the morning, sailors take warning"

But I'm not a sailor and I'm looking at the most incredible sunrise! The entire sky is salmon, pink, and early shades of blue on gray. Just think, God COULD have made us so we only saw black and white....!

We are due for 'light showers' this afternoon and tomorrow morning. That's a wonderful help in the garden this time of year.

Only one chick, but that's OK -- hoping it's not a rooster!

All else is well. Life has calmed down considerably. We are watching Gina's girls a lot now as Gina has a fulltime job and will start school again this autumn. They are all pre-teens and that gets interesting, to say the least!

Pray for rain and warmth in Australia, success for chemo, and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ in the hearts of everyone here today.

God bless you.

Returned home this evening - after a few days at our daughter's place in upper Vermont.

I got to feed breakfast to my youngest grandchild - Azariah - it was great to have him smile at me!

Saw a great bumper sticker on a Vermont Pick Up Truck - It went something like this -

I love liberals!
They taste a lot like chicken!

Jan and I both chuckled when we read that one!

Well have a good evening!

Good Morning Everyone!

Not much going on here today (for a change!). I'm going to piddle around enough to keep myself moving and maybe take the kids to the skateboard park. Chris doen't thing he has enough bruises yet. He is busily doing schoolwork, because I won't take him if he doesn't. He hasn't figured out yet that the skateboard park is considered PE! :D

See ya'll later.

Good morning all,

I sewed all day yesterday and finished all the bottom panels. I got the valances cut out and will (hopefully) get them sewn when I get back from getting a perm this morning.

I still have some straight pieces to figure out how to put in between each window from the valance to the bottom curtains. Now, Cindi, if you would have told me how to make Priscilla valances, my job would have been much easier! :BangHead:

Better yet, you could have come over and done them for me.

I made a big, stupid mistake on the bottom panels that I'm still trying to figure out how to correct. The material is expensive and I have no choice but to fix what I messed up. It was so "DUH" that I'm not telling anyone what I did. Suffice it to say that it sounded like a good idea when I did it and the rest is history...

I've never been blonde, but boy did I have a prolonged 'Senior Moment'! :tonofbricks:

Have a good day all!

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 72 and sunny here, headed for a high of 80 with thunderstorms this afternoon.

Sue: You didn't have a "senior moment" you just had a temporary lapse in power thats all. Happens to power sources all the time.

Cuz: A skate park??? Maybe you can knit a cushion for Chris, or a crying towel for you in case of a crash.

Tanya: Hope the ms is a thing of the past. Glad you're able to enjoy your outing today.

I brought in omelettes, hot biscuits, and biscuits and gravy.Enjoy.

Today is a quiet day[for a change] amd we're going to enjoy it.

Yesterday was our daughter's 33rd birthday. Boy, time does fly.

Time to enjoy the great weather before the storms roll in.

Awww, I'm sorry Gayla! I'll pray that the yucky passes quickly.

Rob, Jenna goes to the skate park too. :D The skate park is a blast. Boys are soooo different from girls! Boys move in herds or maybe flocks. It doesn't matter if the kids know each other or not, within about 5 minutes all the boys are huddled in one group at one corner of the park (its a big rectangle with ramps at each corned and a center piece that goes across the middle). Then they take turns all using that one side of the park. Now when a GIRL comes to the park, you'd think that would change, but I guess Jenna being "Chris' little sister" makes her one of the gang. They haven't persuaded to skateboard down the biggest ramp yet, but one the boys got her to go down the next smaller one by promising he'd catch her if she started to fall. Wasn't that nice? Jenna, btw, uses the boys for help when she needs it, but doesn't travel from ramp to ramp with the group. That is entirely a boy thing!

We only survived an hour today. We've been staying two, but it's been cloudy or we've gone late in the evening. Today it was cloudy just until we got there. Then the sun came out and it was entirely too hot to stay. The metal parts of the ramps were literally burning hot. I told the boys we'd go early tomorrow but I've just realized I lied to them, sigh. Cassie has a doctor's appointment in B'ham first thing. Chris knew about it but I guess he's forgotten too. I'd rather go to the skate park!

Sue, look on line and see if you can find a pic of what you want your curtains to look like and I'll see if I can help. I bet we can find a fix for your mistake too.

i'm still here Gayla!

tuesday i went to the church...didn't get much done there...but Cindi did get to see the grumpy side of Anna(5), the one we have all been telling her about for months, when i went to help a friend pick up a dresser for his new baby daughter...that should be born any day. Anna informed Cindi that she (Cindy) was not the boss of her(Anna)...then told Cindi that she was the boss of her as long as she was bing nice to her:laugh: when i got back to the church and told Anna that Cindy was the boss of her, even if she wasn't being nice...Anna gave the room a dirty look and ran off to hide from us mean adults:laugh:

yesterday i was up way too early! i did get some smocking done before anyone in my house was awake. i went to the store for my mom & my dad's mother and that was about all.

i plan on taking the kids to the church gym to let them run and play today...who knows i may even get more sewing smocking done!! first i plan to use kid labor to clean out my mega van.

I'm here Gayla!

Yesterday though was Cassie's last (we hope) appointment with the arthritis clinic. We admitted defeat in finding the cause of the original problem (severe pain in the front part of her neck that was not related to: thyroid, arteritis, neck joints, or a variety of other things that she's been tested for over the last couple of years.). We accepted victory in that the original problem has gone away on it's own and hasn't reappeared for about the last 8 months. Then they decided that the swelling in her hands is being caused by her carpal tunnels. Wrist splint are in her future and if that doesn't work we can get treatment locally. We have good orthopedic docs here. But no more clinic unless she has a flare in the next year.

Then we went to the library. Then it was time for karate/football, supper and the skate park (too many older kids so we're going this morning). I got to read a bit in between there, but posting was asking too much!

So....

Good Morning Everyone!

Gayla, may the Lord continually lift your hands and heart as you experience this medical treatment again. Your friends continue to lift you in prayer, even if we don't post so much.

Cheers, and God bless,

Jim
