Oh, Gayla - I'm so sorry! I pray that the doctors can find the right medication to help you heal. ((HUGS)) :praying:

Bro. Jim, that is truly great work. You are still good with your hands. Let us see the finished product, OK?

Quote: houses here are built for heat not for cold.

What is the difference, Briony in your houses? Insulation and vapour barriers work both ways; keeps cold out and heat! quoted from Jim

Older houses aint got NO insulation at all.....what is a vapuour barrier?

Gayla you are in my prayers....

Good morning all! I'm up early because it will be a busy day - I'm getting ready to go to camp! I'll be going to a Pioneer Girls' Camp Cherith in the Adirondacks (for those who don't know what Pioneer Girls is, it's a Christian girl scout kind of thing that churches do) to work with their horses. This is my 3rd year going but this will be the first year I don't take one of my teens to help watch the little ones. Yikes! They're good but it can get boring for them to hang out all the time at the barn - I'm hoping that there will be someone available to take them here and there to do something fun. :)

So, I'll see ya'll next week! I'm leaving in the morning and will be back next Saturday night - but then we're into Sunday and Sunday is my daughter's 15th birthday so we'll be doing stuff for her. I'll try to get back on at some point (maybe even from camp) but I'll definitely be back on a week from Monday (7/2). Have a wonderful week!!

Good morning all,

Sorry I have been absent, but I've had family here all week putting up insulation, siding, and trimming out windows.

The house has 6 sides to it and they are working on the 3rd side now. We have 4 steep gables and they are what is taking the time, plus trimming around 27 windows.

Pastor Bob & his wife will be spending this afternoon through tomorrow with their son in Morris, IL, then will spend Monday and Monday night with my daughter in Crown Point, IN. They will be returning here to finish up the siding (hopefully) early Tuesday morning.

I have a wonderful work 'crew' and Brent has been fantastic! The parts they have done look absolutely beautiful (at least to me!).

I guess I'll have to paint the back storm door. The green clashes with the blue siding.

Here is a picture of one of the smaller sides at the back. Isn't it beautiful? It will have a porch light and awning over the door. None of the work 'crew' had ever sided before!!!!

That is amazing. They sure did an excellent job! My congratulations to the crew. By the way, Lady Sue, be sure you give an extra hug from us to Pastor Bob! :)

Hey Everyone!

Gayla, I'll be praying for you.

Sounds like everyone's summer projects are coming along nicely. Such beautiful work Sue and Jim! Good Luck Ann at camp!

I'm really glad we don't have a summer project this year. This thing with my back would have put a huge damper on it, if we had planned one. T had to stay home with me yesterday after I stood up very early Friday morning and pulled my back out all over again. I had gotten up to get him off to work. It was worse than Thursday by a long shot. He wanted to take me to the ER, but I hurt to much to get in the car! I ended up in the recliner all day. It was the only place I could get comfortable and be able to breathe all at the same time.

Today has been some better and I've moved around a bit. The chair here at the computer is not as comfortable so I think I'm headed back to the recliner in a few minutes.

Ya'll don't work to hard!

For not having sided before they did a great job!!!

Nothing wrong with not having experience.

Hey all,
Jim: I love the cradle.
Sue: The house looks good!
Gayla: You are in my prayers.
I didn't much done today. My sis took the older two neices and her son to a Texas Rangers game. The girls got tickets for perfect attendance at VBS. Anyway, auntie kept the three year old and the two and a half month old. I had better go, the baby is with my dad and he isn't much with babies for long periods. He is too nervous anymore.
Y'all have a blessed Sunday.

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm up getting T off to work and so far I'm doing better than I did on Friday, so maybe he'll actually get to go to work today. Spent most of the weekend in the recliner. Stupid back even hurt to much to smock. I read 3 books this weekend and watched endless amounts of TV (boring!).

I'm going to try to move just a little today. I have to go to the bank and to the store. I've managed so far to the little things in my normal routine like giving the dogs a treat and making sure they are untangled and giving fresh veggies to the guinea pigs. First time since last Thursday I've been able to do that. I'm finding I can bend over if I'm very careful but I can't twist at all and sneezing is a very, very bad idea. There is no way to sneeze without pain.

We have blessed rain this morning, or rather, we had it during the night. It's still very cloudy so I'm hoping we'll get some more.

Gotta go get myself dressed. One of my smocking ladies is coming over so I can "help" her put together a dress. I can't sit at the machine so we'll see how it goes. She knows how to sew so we should be able to get it together.

Hmmm, back or no back, it seems like I'm going to have a fairly busy day. Good! Sitting for days on end is not my idea of fun!

Not much action today. Too hot to do much! 97F, but they claim only a high of 79F tomorrow.

No sweat. Or, actually . . . :BangHead:

Good morning all,

My 'crew' is coming back today to put up more siding and insulation. I have an appointment this morning, then off to the bank, post office, and grocery store. Then back home to fix sandwiches for lunch and I'm not sure what for supper.

Tomorrow I will be in Springfield all day with Brent. He is having his tests (which he is NOT looking forward to) and I can't blame him!

More appointments Thursday, including an oil change for the car, and packing.

Early Friday morning, Brent and I will head for Wisconsin to visit my son, Vern. We will be back Saturday evening.

Please pray for Brent's tests and results and also for us as we travel.

Play nice while I'm gone and keep the coffee on...

My thanks to Brother Barnabas for the photo reduction and publication. You are truly a gentleman.

It remains quite hot here and I love every moment of it. It is hard on the dogs though. They don't understand why they are kept in house and can't go on car rides.

Cheers, and keep smiling,

Jim

Good Morning Everyone!

Awww Sue, do we have to be nice????

Praying for you and yours. Don't forget to post pictures when your house is finished.

We may not have a problem playing nicely now that I think about it. Ann is off to camp. Rob has grandkids to keep him occupied. Dr. Bob, Barnabas and Jim don't know the meaning of not nice. Tanya's computer connection is suffering from the ignorant digging of the road crew that was supposed to "fix" her street and instead fixed her phone and won't have service again for a couple of days. That just leaves me and Islandgirl. How much trouble could we get into? Course if Gayla, Gwen and Debbie come join us, I just bet we could find something to do. :D

Today is supposed to be smocking day. The church is having the gym painted (think stinky) so I don't know that we'll want to go there to smock. But there are closets we are supposed to clean out. Sound confusing? Yeppers! We'll figure it out sometime today. If we decide to smock, we'll sew here at my house. If we decide to clean closets, I'll leave my kids at home. Stinky paint causes migraines!

Until then, I have to get the house ready for the exterminator to come spray. Ugg....

Good Morning Everybody,

It is already 72 here headed for a high of 90+, supposed to start cooling off the rest of the week.

Should Sue rename her house the "Dew Drop Inn?" She seems to be getting used to feeding crowds.

As far as my Cuz not behaving...I want to make a BB Public Service Announcement. Cindi is always well behaved - unless she's alone or with somebody.
 :saint:

Is that how it works? We have to behave when we're children, then we grow up and have a family and we still have to behave?

I brought in an early lunch for everybody. "Fried" Pecan Chicken Fingers, Bacon-and-Chicken Bites in Sweet-Hot Mustard, Fried Dill Pickle Spears, Basil Shrimp Salad [served in carved tomatoes], and Key Lime Cheesecake.
{Sorry about all the fried food, but we are Baptists aren't we?}

Now it's time to go out and supervise the grandchildren. We're going to a friends house this afternoon to help him enjoy his pool.

I've got to get outta here before I demonstrate what Mark Twain meant when he said..."If you're being run out of town, get in front and make it look like a parade."

Hi folks,

Thought I would drop in for a moment. We have been totally jammed for the past couple of months and I crave peace and quiet! Our oldest son is getting married Saturday and Barry is officiating, so that's really fun. There was an invitation-only conference in southern Calif. ten days ago, for the weekend, where a number of professionals in relevant fields gathered to talk to Barry about his research and ask him questions. I stayed home with Chris and animals, and Barry was exhausted when he got home, but from what he told me it was definitely worth it.

The first DVD is about finished and our new website design is about done, so both should be hitting the net at about the same time.

Our oldest daughter and her husband are coming to spend a week or more in a couple of weeks.

I have been working extensively with our deaf friends, typing material down into sign-compatible English for them. A lot of Bible study and material on cults...and just a bunch of general questions they have curiousity about as well.

Garden is gorgeous, Chris is fine, days are full....what happened to the idea of retirement????

Sue, God be with you with the malignancy. Hope all the rest of you are hanging in there, too. God bless you all.

In Christ,
Helen

Re=again, so retirement mean to get tired all over again! Sounds like you are on the right track, Helen! :D Glad to hear from you. I was getting a bit worried even though you warned us.

Good Morning Everyone!

Cass has an early dentist appointment this morning. After that the boys have me pegged to take them over to the skate park. It's sooo tempting to drop them off, but then I think of all the trouble two 12 year old boys could get themselves into and that stops that! In between I'll be resting. My back actually feels better today. Yay! I'm going to be careful though and give it another day before I start back my usual routine.

Ya'll have a good day!
