Good Morning Everyone!

Hey Islandgirl! Glad you checked in.

Hopefully I'll get to start back to karate today. It's been 5 1/2 weeks since I've felt like making the attempt. Last weeks energy was spent on mowing grass. It's sad to get old and have to choose between energy consuming activities. :(

Then I'm supposed to go to church and sew, but I don't know what time I'll actually get there. Today isn't going exactly as planned. The upstairs air unit isn't working correctly and I may end up having to stay at home so the repair guy can come.

Ya'll have a good day!

Hello!?!?
Come on, people, check in here a little more often!!
Please?

I feel human again! Still getting tired very easily, though. This is a no treatment week, PTL!!!!!!!!!! I'm really hoping a different treatment will be found, because the adverse effects I've had to this stuff are very unusual.

((Hugs)) Gayla! I pray that you continue to feel better - and that whatever treatment the doctors find will do the trick and rid you of the cancer.

I've been somewhat sparse because we were down to one car and that meant I was at church today from 8:45 til after 2 - then we had to go get the car (FINALLY fixed), come home, get some chores done then dinner. Whew! Not to mention I think hell is leaking some of it's fire - it's STILL over 90 degrees at 7:30 PM! OY! Thank God for air conditioning, is all I can say. LOL!!

Hey all,
Gayla: Dad is doing a little better. His foot is slowly healing and thankfully is healing from the inside out which is good! I am glad that you are doing better. I am heading off to bed. I am getting some new kids in my class starting soon. One is visiting for a while tommorrow and the other one starts on Monday.
Y'all have a good day.

Good morning everyone! I brought in fresh blueberry struesel muffins and cantaloupe from the garden (the garden is a virtual garden - as is the food - LOL!) It's absolutely gorgeous here today - very low humidity and it's supposed to be in the mid 80s - a one day reprieve from the heat and humidity. I'm going horseback riding in a bit then later I have to run to my ILs to pick up some things they want me to have. They're moving to a retirement community after being in the same house for over 50 years, so they have a lot of things to pass on. I also need to do the food shopping for our boat trip next week because I'm just not going to have time after today. I'm working tomorrow and have our small group tomorrow night, Saturday I'm driving to pick up the girls from camp (a 5 hour trip each way), Sunday is church then our beach baptism at the ocean, and Monday will be a day spent packing up the boat and getting it all ready. So I want to get atleast the non-perishable provisions ready to go before all that.

I can't wait to see my girls from camp! They've been gone 2 weeks and I think they've had a wonderful time but I still miss them. My oldest went for CILT (Camper in Leadership Training) and the first year is this 2 week program but she wants to go back next year for CILT 2 which is a 4 week program then stay on through the rest of the summer to be a junior counselor! Yikes! Am I ready for my baby to fly the coop yet?? Fortunately, next year she'll be staying local for college but still! :( I think this has been so good for her, though. I can tell by her letters that she's really maturing and that's great to see. :) UGH - the bittersweet moments of being a parent.

Hi Jim

LOL .... I know what you mean.

What are you doing today then Jim?

I have been out shopping and blackberrying and am now deciding if I should go get Rob a new hedge trimmer or stay at home and make blackberry and apple jam...

Blessings

Good Morning Everyone!

Ann, how'd you rate break from the heat? It's been 100 degrees or more, here the last couple of days. Whew! Glad we were talking about the heat. I had forgotten I was watering my flower beds and it reminded me to move my sprinkler. It's been dry here as well as hot. This morning the temp was actually as low as 72, but it is quickly heating up.

I'm not sure exactly how things are going to happen today. I gotta figure it out. I know for sure that Chris isn't feeling well, that Tanya(TLB) is having an ultrasound, that another of the ladies needs help starting her next project, that Cassie has to finish reading a book and that Jenna's orientation is tonight. Where that leaves me, is the question. :D

Good morning all,

Sorry for not checking in, but have been very busy painting the rooms inside the house and sewing new curtains. When I finish, in the evening, I am very tired and just fall into bed.

We are in the middle of a heat wave so, needless to say, I am staying inside in the A/C so I can breathe!

Our church is celebrating it's 59th Anniversary this Sunday and Pastor Bob and the President of the college are the guest preachers (they were both raised in our church).

We will be having a singspiration and a church wide potluck, as well as some other activites. Of course, Sunday will be the hottest day during this heat wave with actual temps reaching 100º and a heat index of over 115º.

Glad to see everyone else checking in too!

HAGD!

Good Morning Everybody,

Is this the "check-in counter?"

It is in the 80s and we have had three glorious days of rain. Storms are forecast for today too.

I've checked in a few times. I'm like Sue the hot weather and high humidity tend to keep me near the air conditioning. After you get done remodeling every room in the house + the exterior you're not going to put the house up for sale are you?

Glad to hear you're feeling better Gayla, and that you get to take a break from your treatments.

I know I haven't officially seen a hurricane named Cindi, but my Cuz does the best imitation of one I've ever seen. Keep going like you are and they'll rename Restless Legs Syndrome to Restless Cindi Syndrome.

Jim why is it that summer seems to race by but winter drags on and on and on...?

I brought in Spice-Island Ribs, Banana Pepper Slaw, Cilantro Potato Salad, Hot Biscuits, and Key Lime Cheesecake with Strawberries and Fresh Mint. Enjoy.

Words of Wisdom for TMB - If raising children is so easy...why does the whole process begin with the word Labor?

I love both summer and winter, so I guess I can't complain.

Sheila, I am digging a hole in very stony ground to install a new mailbox. I could start a gravel pit from this hole..By the way, my mailing address will change. No more Box 51, Just 463 Gilmore Rd...you know the rest.

Cheers,

Jim

We're not getting any break from the heat around here. At noon it 90 with a Heat Index of 103. It's gonna get worse before it gets better!

I'm feeling about like yesterday, which is OK since yesterday was better than the day before!

But, Gayla dear, we've never laid eyes on each other, and I've been described as " a sore for sight eyes."

Ohhhh, you mean more people posting in the CGCH!
Now I gotcha.

Hi Friend of God, Jim and Gayla and all who look in here.

Thanks for the update Jim.

Well, Rob has a new hedge trimmer. I went to Cheltenham and then had to go to Gloucester for it. I don't know if the jam will be made this evening.

Blessings to you all

Hey all,
It feels like checking in is all I do anymore. Anyway, dad went to the doc today and his foot is healing good. She has him wearing bandages that are supposed to decrease the fluid build up in his legs. He had a good day which helped. Speaking of the weather-the last report that I heard for here was 99 for Friday and 100 on Saturday. I had better go, it is getting late and work comes awfully early when I don't get enough sleep. Y'all have a blessed day!

Woo-hoo! Congratulations!! But then again my son was a girl on the ultrasound too (we didn't find out he was a boy until he was born! LOL).

I'm off to work now. I need to get a lot of stuff done - a slideshow of pictures from our mission team that went to Nicaragua, sermon notes, and then begin to get next week ready because we're leaving on vacation on Wednesday and I need to have the service schedule, announcements and ALL the computer stuff done ahead of time. Tonight is then our small group (which I may skip since I'm working on a migraine thanks to this weather, I think).

Oh - and it's a full 20 degrees cooler right now than it's been recently! It's only 69 degrees which feels downright chilly!! LOL!

Hi everyone. I've been missing in action for so long, I can't catch up!

Too bad no one has time to list a brief blurb on each person who frequents the coffee house including updates over the past month. Any takers? ;)

Have a great day, all!

p.s. Congrats Tanya!

Good morning everyone!

Hot, hot and hotter, here in AL! The boys(Chris and his best friend Cade) and Jenna wanted to go to the skatepark this morning since this will be Cade's last day in the menagerie until he gets a break from school. I was mean and told them that Cade needed to be at his own home for a few days to get ready for school. So, we got up and got there by about 8:30, by 9:30 they made the decision on their own that it was too hot. The temp had made it up to 90. 10 degrees in just one hour!

Yesterday ended up being mostly quiet day. Today is uncertain again! Cade has football in a bit and then orientation at Maddox that I may have to take him to, because one of his cousins is seriously ill with appedicitis. The docs believe they caught it before it ruptured which is good, but she will have surgery sometime today. Cade's mom will have to be there.

While I'm taking Cade to football, I need to run back to the docs office and pick up Cass' new blue form and take it and her and her summer English work over to the high school so she can turn it all in.

No one has called me about sewing yet so what the afternoon will bring is up in the air!

Now Cuz, are you trying to tell me that it's not normal to be busy everyday? :D
