Now Cuz, are you trying to tell me that it's not normal to be busy everyday? :D

Not at all Cuz. It just that work fascinates me. I can stand and watch it for hours.

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 76 and sunny, headed for a high of 90 today. We had rain for 3 days and it was fantastic.

Congratulations Tanya!! Have you started thinking of names? I was named after my two grandfathers; my Brother was named after a Cousin; and my Sister was named after an argument.

It's closer to lunch than breakfast so I brought in Grilled Bruschetta Chicken, Sweet and White Potato Spears, Grilled Shrimp Caesar Salad, and Double Chocolate Fudge Cups for dessert. Enjoy.

We're having a potluck after church on Sunday and we've been asked to bring 1-passing dish, and 1-dessert. Trying to figure out something to take that people would like.

Hate to rush off, but we have a crisis in our home. We're out of dishwasher soap, and in our house that is a crisis.

What is a "passing dish"? That's a new term to me.

Tanya, congratulations!! How many Bs and Gs will this give ya? Enquiring minds want to know . . .

It's 94 with a heat index of 111 right now! :tonofbricks:

Hi Gayla. Hope this finds you feeling better.

A "passing dish" can be a meat dish, a vegetable, or a salad. We're taking Coconut & Lime Chicken, an Herbed Veggie Platter, and Key Lime Cheesecake with Strawberries and Fresh Mint for the potluck.

Hope people like it.

and my Sister was named after an argument.

Your parents named their arguments????? Good gracious! Those must have been some arguments. :D

Ah well, I did indeed make it to get Cass' new immunization form. Took Cade to football and promptly went back to get him because they weren't having football because of the heat and he didn't hear them when they canceled it. His mom took him to his orientation and then dropped him back off to me at the church where I finally did make it to smock for a couple of hours.

I'm off to karate now.....

Tanya: Congrats on the baby girl!!!!!! Be prepared though because my nephew was supposed to be a girl too.
Anyway, I have had a busy day so I can't stay long. I had an all day training meeting and then came home to all the usual chores around here. Thank goodness mom is feeling somewhat better so she is able to do a few things. The doctor scheduled some tests and changed some of her medicines. Well, I had better go, she is out working on the yard and needs a drink.
Y'all have a blessed Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy First Day of School!

Yep! That's the theme of the day. I drug myself up an hour earlier this morning and carried girls to school. Chris and I will get started in a little while.

When we are done with that we have to find the leak in the pool. There isn't an obvious hole but we are losing quite a bit of water.

By that time it'll be time to pick girls up again!

Chris made bacon this morning and I put out a variety of cereal and an apple cake (safe for diabetics). Ya'll enjoy!

School doesn't start here until the day after Labor Day - we still have a 2 week vacation before that! :D

Today I'm heading out to ride in a few and then it's getting busy preparing for our trip. The girls will do some chores at home while I'm out and get themselves ready too. BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!! Oh - my car is acting up again (the dash goes black when I turn on the turn signal), so that has to go into the shop tomorrow. NOT good timing!!

Oh - I have a prayer request if you think of it. We're leaving on vacation on Wednesday and my dad just let me know he needs an angioplasty on Friday. I feel so guilty going away and I had to get my in-laws to drive him to the hospital and a friend will take him home. I feel like I should be here but I just can't. So please pray that my dad does well with the surgery and recovers quickly - and that I'll feel OK about it (unless I NEED to stay home then God needs to speak with Bob and convince him. SIGH)

So have a great day all! I left fresh zucchini bread on the counter - it's yummy!!

annsni, by the time school starts back for your kids mine will have almost 2 moths of school under their belt! That is what happens when you home school and want to take a long break in the winter when baby comes =) We will be praying for your dad...keep us posted.

Today I have house work to do, school work with Anna, I need to look over some of the things that Kara, Amie & Seth have done on SOS and that is about it. I don't think I will get to do any sewing....but then again, I don't get paid to think!

:1_grouphug: have a good day all!

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 72 and sunny here, headed for a high in the 80s today.

Our kids also start school again after Labor Day. Last year it was made a State Law that all schools in Michigan resume after Labor Day.

Thanks for the breakfast Cuz and Ann.

Not much going on here. It's been too hot to do anything outside[although the g-kids don't mind it at all.]

May God's love for you brighten your day.

Well, it seems the first day was exhausting! I picked up one whiny girl and and girl with a migraine. Both had homework! I sent Cass to bed after she told me how her day went. Jenna did her work, punctuated by wrestling matches with Chris, and went in search of food and cartoons.

The good news is that there wasn't any bad news! :D Cass' schedule was fixed by them adding in a Spanish course that she has to have anyway, so that gives her the number of credits she is supposed to have for this year. Only thing to deal with now is her health plan. Her teachers evidently don't know about it yet as she didn't get two sets of books. This is normal stuff though and nothing to complain about. It'll get fixed in the next couple of weeks.

I gotta figure out something for supper and get ready for karate. I still haven't hunted down the stupid leak!

Congratulations Jim! Sixpence, huh? Isn't there an old ditty...."Sing a song of sixpence"? Now we're all waiting for the new Grandpa to sing.

Good Morning Everybody,

It is 67 here headed for a high of 80 today.

You have my sympathies Cuz. I'm sure we're headed for the same type of emotionally traumatic day right after Labor Day. For the first time all the grandchildren[except Sean] will be in school all day at the same time. We won't know what to do around here.

I brought in eggs, bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits, and fresh cantaulope. Enjoy.

We're going camping for the week before the Labor Day weekend. It's time to make sure everything is packed in the RV and we have enough food and supplies. Time for me to start making lists[ Brenda hates when I do this-she says I'm too organized, but we're never short of supplies or food, nor do we forget the supplies we need.] Our daughter bought a new tent that will sleep 10. The grandchildren will sleep with her, while Brenda and I use the RV.

I have been ordered by "She Who Must Be Obeyed" [With apologies to "Rumpole of the Bailey" aka Brenda] and the other couple who are going with us that I am forbidden to cook. Fine with me. I won't complain.

Time to get started.

Giving you due and timely warning Cuz, so you'll be prepared to cook for the CGCH.Ewwwwww I think I just felt a blast of cold air from Alabama, or maybe it was just a cold stare.

Here it is Bro. Jim. Congratulations to your new grand-baby, Sixpence. You are right, minus the beard he looks like his Grandpa - handsome and cute as a button. Sorry for not being able to focus on the picture. I did lightened it up a bit though. :type:
