For neocons, calling names is more comfortable than facing facts.

They would like to maintain the notion that they are being "conservative" when they follow the likes of Kristol. Getting mad and childish isn't going to help you much.

Dealing with the implications of from where your ideology comes, that would help.

Apparently, he was paralyzed by it for a considerable time, before rousing himself to do anything. I want someone in the office who can think and act effectively in an emergency. If it was only that, Kerry would have my vote, since he's demonstrated an ability to do that.

Clinton was clearly energized by the white house....and the other amenities that went with it.

Maybe that's what's wrong with Bush. Did you ever see "Good Morning, Vietnam"?

Too long to sit and do nothing. There are supposed to be contingency plans for this kind of thing. There were in every previous administration. He should have been on that, at once.

He should have gotten things under way at once. Assuming that he at least kept the Clinton contingency plans in place (as you might know, terrorism had been removed from the list of priorities when Bush took over)

There should have been a call to the Pentagon, to be sure that effective air cover and defenses were inplace. A call to whoever handles the plan in Washington, to begin evacuation/defense for the WH/Capitol Hill/Pentagon. Assuming they bothered to have one, or learn the one previous presidents had.

Because there was no direction early on, a considerable amount of confusion reigned with our defenses. Thank God there weren't more aircraft taken, and thank God that the passengers on the plane that seemed to be for the WH took out the hijackers.

Bush isn't good in an emergency. He just doesn't react well. It's funny when he's trying to think and talk at the same time, but it wasn't so funny on 9/11.

Here's what's sad. I wonder if the anti-Christ ran on the Republican ticket as a "conservative" would he get the Evangelical Christian vote?

By the same token, I've had relatives tell me if Satan himself were running on the Democratic ticket, they would still vote for him.

Kinda makes one stop and pause....is this what it has come to? People vote along the two party lines without questioning, hesitation, or reservation?

This is probably the last national election I will ever vote in. But I voted my conscience. It wasn't for the lesser of two evils. It was for the most moral man for the job.

Its just possible that at first the AC might be the most moral man around.

I just hope you don't mess around and cause Kerry to be elected. Clinton had Perot to thank. Bush had Nader. Kerry could have Peroutka.

My objective observation is that Tragic Pizza cannot read, or will not read whatever he has concluded will be to his disliking. I think this kinder than saying he sounds like a lunatic.So if I am wrong and he actually can read, he is a lunatic.

No national body comes close to fitting our orientation so well as does the Alliance of Baptists. Before we even had read the Covenant principles adopted by the Alliance, our church had embraced that perspective already.

Encountering the Alliance was, for us, like love at first sight. With great joy and a deep sense of gratitude we joined and in our own small way have been supportive.

Our church is somewhat different from most local churches in that it embodies a great deal of diversity number of ethnic an culture groups are represents in our fellowship. We have one African American/Caucasian married couple; numerous gay and lesbian couples and singles; and we ordained a gay woman to the ministry and made her our associate pastor.

We have generally a well-educated constituency but also a few people who didn’t complete high school who feel accepted, comfortable and embraced by our congregation. Our membership includes a number of agnostics and seeker who tell us that if it weren’t for our fellowship, they wouldn’t be a part of a church at all.

We have a strong ministry to marginalized, forgotten and disenfranchised individuals who previously had no spiritual home. We have been warned that such a diverse constituency could not survive in this part of the country. Nevertheless, we have are still here and continue to embrace that which we believe to be our calling.
