Bob, I need you to start a topic on Vernon McGee. Who was he? Was he a fundamentalist Baptist or a Presbyterian? Was he involved in the fundamentalist movement? Was he accepted by fundamentalist like John R. Rice and Frank Norris?

Maybe so, but I don't believe that McGee believes in evolution.Originally posted by TC:
I have most of the books that were made of his Through the Bible radio broadcasts. He promotes the Gap theory - i.e. there is an undisclosed amount of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Most that espouse this have the gap at millions or billions of years.

I do enjoy listening to him on the radio. And I like having the books of his program so I can use them when I study. Does anyone know where I can get the volumes I'm missing so I so I can have a complete set (if that possible)?
Thanks.Originally posted by glenn316:

I agree. I admit that it is possible that the "Gap Theory" is correct. I do not think that we have enough evidence to draw any conclusions about this or many other things that God has not given us much information on. I am willing to leave it in God's hand. I do not, however, believe that evolution is consistent with what the Bible teaches.Originally posted by FHG&OJ:
Terry,
That would be correct. One who believes in the Gap theory is still a creationist just an "old earth" creationist and not a "young earth."
