As far as I know there is one Libertarian member of the House [Ron Paul] and he votes with the Republican. There is one Socialist and one independent in the Senate and they vote with the democrats. I believe the Republican Party best represents my political philosophy between the major parties and I will support them in an attempt to stop the socialist agenda of the democrats. I do concede that the Republicans spent like drunken democrats since 2000 and they got kicked out.:love2:

I have never been anything but a Republican. I stayed one even after Nixon. Reagan made the party mean something again. After that, I took Bush the First as a fluke of not being conservative. Then, eight years of Clinton motivated me to stay in the party. After voting for Bush the Second twice, and watching a continuous parade of liberal policies, I too will be switching parties to the CP long before the next election.

I am a proud member of the Conservative Party of New York.
We were founded in the early '60 when Rockerfellow was too liberal.

There is also a Conservative Party in New Jersery.
A few other states have conservative party, but some are connected with the Constution Party.

I voted third party (for the first time in my life) this past election. Constitution Party.

In the past I've always voted Republican for POTUS and have been proud to vote for some of the candidates, such as Reagan. Even though Bush #1 and #2 ran as Republicans I don't consider them conservatives and I don't consider McCain to be a "real" conservative either.

I doubt I'll ever vote for a Republican for POTUS again.

I am regestered as Democratic–Republican. I am the only one in my Parish (county) regestered as such.

Locally, I generally vote Republican. In the last Presidential election, I voted Constitution Party - Chuck Baldwin; In 2004 - Constitution Party - Mike Peroutka; In 2000 - Reform Party - Pat Buchanan.

The last time I voted Republican in a presidential election was 1996.

This time around I would have voted Republican if the following people were nominated:
1. Dr. Alan Keyes
2. Congressman Tom Tancredo
3. Mike Huckabee
4. Sarah Palin

the items I tend to agree with:
1. Lower taxes
2. Paying off the national debt
3. Reducing red tape for small business
4. Ending Federal policies
5. Strong military and police
6. Strong provincial govt
7. Term limits (for Senate)

The items I tend to disagree with:
1. Health care
2. Child care
3. Constitutional monarchy
4. Dual language (French and English)


I did not see any stand of the following:
(note: I support both)

1. Pro-life plank
2. (USA) 2nd Amendment - Right to bear arms*

Overall, I would say I could support the Conservative Party of Canada.

These are essential parts of Canada. To try to take out health care would be the defeat of any government or even province.

Consitutional monarchy is what we are. The Queen is the Queen of Canada.

French and English,,the founding nations.

Abortion is legal in Canada. Our current Prime Minister has tried to introduce changes, but too much opposition from the Federal Court.
