That may be true but we don't know who is behind O'bama rex.

I disagree. i think Geithner is just a puppet and O'bama rex is the puppet master. You know the one who remains hidden yet pulls the strings. I believe O'bama rex did the same thing with the so-called stimulus bill. Pelosi gave him just what he wanted but if the buffalo chips hit the fan he can always blame her.
I'm glad.. his sidekick needed a break!! Whew.. I would hate to be worked like that....
ROFL... OH.. I kill me!
OK...if any of you doubted how dangerous this Fascist is...

He won't rule out replacing more CEO's.
Remember what Fascism is, gang: Private ownership of the production process...but government control.
Congratulations to "the winners:" you all elected a Fascist...who is appointing more of them.
He didn't take over nor did he attempt to take over the production process. GM now has a new CEO and he already has plans to make the company profitable. I read somewhere that Caddy and Chevy will be the remaining two divisions and he will take them through a bankruptcy. This is a guy whose been there less than a week.
Sounds like the change at GM was needed...

I'm sorry...but when the government goes into a company and forces a change in leadership...that is taking over.
Two things...
1. Geithner has explicitly said that he'll push others out if he sees the need. Does that not bother you?
2. You do realize, don't you, that if "receiving government help" is the parameter for ousting a private corporation's leader...that all corporations are at risk?
Economic Fascism: If it doesn't scare you, you either don't know history, or don't appreciate freedom like you should.
Anyone who supports this but cried out about the patriot act shows they only wanted to bash Bush. They are not really worried about government efecting freedom.

That's a two way street Rev, you don't support this but was in favor of the union reduction measures the republican's tried. You guys have been against UAW and wanted those contracts void since day one. Well guess who approved those contracts on behalf of GM.
I am not nor have I ever been in favor of this or any government interference in business. Also I am not republican. Got it.
It may or may not be what was needed. But that is not the Presidents call. The government could bail them out without giving and requirements. Doing so shows intent. And libbies want control over production. If you control leadership you control the whole. But in the end it is all unconstitutional.
As part of the deal, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson insisted that AIG's chief executive, Robert Willumstad, step aside. Mr. Paulson personally told Mr. Willumstad the news in a phone call on Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the call.
The government’s choice of new chief executives to head the two firms it has taken over makes clear whose interests it intends to defend. Placed at the helm of Fannie Mae was Herbert Allison, a former vice-chairman at Merrill Lynch, and to head Freddie Mac, it tapped David Moffett, a former CEO at US Bancorp and current senor advisor to the Carlyle Group.
Sorry it took me a while to look these up. The right is again being hypocritical saying things like Obama is taking "unprecedented" actions with GM and how the "libbies" just want to take over these companies. How quickly they forget the things they did. The Republican's just fired the CEO's of AIG, Fanny and Freddy. And in the case of Fanny and Freddie, not only did they fire the CEO, they chose the replacement. What a bunch of hypocritical liars...
What I'm saying is perhaps it isn't the governments place to do these things. But don't pretend like Obama and the Democrats are the first to do it. Every Republican I saw on the tube today said this was "unprecedented". That is simply a bald faced lie. The Republican party started this trend and Obama just followed their example... Why can't they own up and stop pretending like the Democrats run things any differently than they did?
I wouldn't claim to be a Republican either... Those guys are really sinking in public perception... Sorry to insult you like that.
No... In this case it doesn't bother me because I see the necessity and reason for the action. I know you choose not to see any other view than yours and I will not try and change your perception.
