Well you get back to me on it then, just like you did with your "underage unmarried backseat car sex" definition.

Look here...I was working yesterday from 7am to 7pm got off, ate, went to bed, got up at 5:30am this morning, got to work at 7am and am working to 3pm. So I was busy yesterday. God has blessed me with a job and I would like to keep it for a while. You know patience is a fruit of the Spirit.

Oh yeah. BTW I won't use wikipedia. I will try to find a credible source, unlike some people in this forum.

I am not busy during the day, but I cannot look things like this up on my work computer because I am a subcontracted employee. I was saying that I was busy when I got off of work. If you want to be smart why don't you go somewhere else and post on someone elses forum.

At the same time that all forms of Christian music, except those that he designates, are not worship to God, but actually sinful.

Huh? I've never heard that football teams listen to anything but the coach before the big football game. Atleast that's what my brother has said, Freeman McNeil has told me and my daughter's boyfriend has said.

No...it remains Amazing Grace because the meaning of the song has never changed regardless of what you say.
When did God make you His personal spokesperson...are you a prophet?
Translation: if I like it, God must like it...and if I dislike it, God must also dislike it. Pretty haughty attitude to take!

You do realize, don't you, that you are saying, "God has the same personal preferences I do?"

You don't see that as problematic?

What is up with the childish personal attack? I stopped attacking you all personally and now because I attack your music you attack me? What in the world?

I am a preacher thank you very much. Called to preach in 1996. I am God's spokesperson. Not in a new kind of way....but in preaching the Bible.

I am not against drums personally...but I would not have them used in a church service because they could be a stumbling block to others.

Here is a link to a song that I like. Good message and not played so fast the you cannot make out the words. Also, the music doesn't over-power the words. The music help communicate the words in a way that I believe God would be pleased. However, the disclaimer is that I would not use it in a church service with the drums because it might hinder someone else from listening to its message. If I or any one of the people in my church were to sing this song we would try to find the music without the drums.

This song is called One Holy Lamb. The beat is not that fast but you can hear the drums in there.

Not a personal attack, an observation...one that others here have also made.

Since the Bible doesn't speak of music styles, you have taken it upon yourself to speak for God and what music He accepts as worship and likes. I'm also a preacher, called to preach the day I was saved...as all believers are commanded...but I'm not a Pastor.

    Taken from http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?l=r&p=17

    rock 'n' roll
noun ref. to a specific style of popular music is attested from 1954, from rock (v.2) + roll (v.). The verbal phrase had been a Black Eng. euphemism for "sexual intercourse," used in popular dance music lyrics and song titles since at least the 1934s. Shortened form rock first attested 1957.

    rock ''n'' roll

noun ref. to a specific style of popular music is attested from 1954, from rock(v.2) + roll(v.). The verbal phrase had been a Black Eng. euphemism for "sexual intercourse," used in popular dance music lyrics and song titles since at least the 1934s. Shortened form rock first attested 1957.

    From http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/1485091/rock-and-roll

William (“Hoss”) Allen of WLAC in Nashville, Tennessee—who created rock-and-roll radio by playing hard-driving rhythm-and-blues and raunchy blues records that introduced white suburban teenagers to a culture that sounded more exotic, thrilling, and illicit than anything they had ever known. In 1954 that sound coalesced around an image: that of a handsome white singer, Elvis Presley, who sounded like a black man.
    ...
This emerging rock-and-roll culture brought a wave of condemnations from religious leaders, government officials, and parents’ groups, who branded it the “devil’s music.”

    ...............end of citations..............

I cannot find where it originated in the back seat of a car....however, it was condemed by parents, government, and religion because it stood for illicit behavior.

What? Really?? Drums would be a stumbling block??

You do bring up a good point though -- "that I believe God would be pleased." It's your personal beliefs, not Scripture.

Not a bad song. Not my cup of tea. But whatever.

Here's another link. Check it out.

My guess is that you would call this rock. I wouldn't.

Also....somebody earlier wrote and said that we are to sing a new song. The person that posted this was talking about the new song meaning (modern like rock). However, if you read this verse in its context it is speaking about a new song that God puts in your heart after Salvation. This new song means that you have new desires because you are made new.

Again we come full circle: After Salvation God gives you a new life. We are to put away the things that appeal to the flesh. Rock music appeals to the flesh.

I don't call this rock. Also, when I said "I believe" I was saying this according to the principles that I have found in the Scriptures. However, I am not saying that I would use this in a church service. This is the area of music that I am talking about: church service music. I am not talking about music in my personal life or in the life of anyone else.

I like it how when you refer to God you use a lower case letter. Thanks for proving my point. Rock music with Christian lyrics brings about a lack of reverence toward God and toward His name.
