Do You Admire Any Preachers...

In terms of modern preachers I like Charles Stanley and David Jeremiah. If there are any glaring problems with either of these 2, please let me know because I tend to watch a lot of their programming.

Also, what do you guys think of the Baptist Bible Hour|? From what I can gather they are Primitive Baptists.

Thanks,
Chris
Lasayer Bradley? If I spelt it right, is very good!

I do not do the things you accuse me of. You just need to learn to read with comprehension, then do a bit of study on Biblical doctrine. The written Word of God and the Incarnate Word of God are two different things. Always have been.
But they cannot be separated one from the other as you suggest.

i know the differences you are stating, but when it comes to the word of God and Jesus they are never separate.

It's certainly not the "ha ha" kind of laughter, but the "where did he get that" laughter.

So your words "are inspired when God chooses to use them when making reference to His word"? You have quite the ego.:BangHead:
Oh, so when you witness, I suppose you do witness, you don't want the touch of God on you and he use your words to lead others to Him?

Hmmm, what do you do with the passage that tells us how they overcame the wicked one with the word of their testimony and the blood of the Lamb?

This has NOTHING to do with what little ego I do have.

sorry, no cognition for those who can't read. who's talking about "accusations" any?

here's what i wrote: "your question assumes that the Lord ever started using the KJB"--it has nothing to do with "accusation."

ask yourself where u got it from. lol.

and yeah, while u're at it, answer my original question: "your question assumes that the Lord ever started using the KJB ... mind telling us the Book-Chapter-Verse of that?"
Genesis 1;1 is a good place for you to start, or do you think God didn't have anything to do with that verse either?

the problem with you KJBOs is that u can't ever face the question squarely but have to twist it.
Nice UNFOUNDED assumption.

nobody said the Bible Jesus used was "not ever found or even similar to the KJV" or "never found in the KJV." in fact, the Bible He used is found in the KJB as well as all modern Bibles; so deal with that fact.
You and others most certainly have and still do.

BUT u'd assumed that the Lord did use the KJB when u said:
"Mind telling me when did the Lord stop using the KJV?"
and that implication's simply not true.
The Lord has used the KJV since He began to inspire men to pen down His word. How do I know this? Because the KJV IS the word of God and God cannot lie nor has he ever changed.

Now, did Jesus in his lifetime as a man actually carry a Bible? NO! He is The Bible!:godisgood:

Many have been called Ruckmanites but it seems that people like Mr Garvey are more like Riplinger.
YOu ask a questionk then they either twist the question or dodge the question.
You simply can't get a straight answer sadly.
Some questions are not worth answering while some people's comments are nothing but slanted rhetoric and condescension.

What is sad is when some one thinks themselves to be something and they do just what you have as a means of attacking their person by comparison of people you hate.

I think (I HOPE!) by "Used the KJV" Harold means that the Lord in this current day uses the KJV as a means to spread the gospel.
Of course God in that way also "used" the Geneva, The ASV, the NASB, The German Luther Bible, the NIV and this list goes on.

Harold, do you deny that God ever used the NASB in the same sense of the word "used" as you say God "used" the KJV?
Only a really big dummy would deny that God doesn't use the Gospel in many different forms.

Maybe you're arguing from another thread or something or maybe with some one in your past.

Every word i speak is not the word of God, but every word i speak about the Gospel is used of God.

beg to differ?:godisgood:

My brother,
when I witness, I use God's Word. I would never claim that my words are inspired.

And your answers have everything to do with your ego.

Not at all, I just know when I use my Bible people are also moved with the testimony I give of my conversion. God did that so it must be His ego!

Oh, btw, are you saying that when you, I guess you do, give your testimony that God is somehow separate from even that?????????

Not questioning your salvation, but specifically when you witness is God there or just still somewhere up in the heavens apart from His word?

MexDeaf had it right, "Whatever"

Solomon put it even better, Proverbs 26:4 - Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will also be like him.

No, God has it right and you just disobeyed Him and called me a "fool" which breaks BB rules.

The conspiracy behind the OP was to entrap "KJVO"'s into an underhanded effort.

I inserted the Lord into the mix and yall cry out against it. Very telling I say!

Do you always fashion the word of God from a plowshare and into a ball and chain against your brother?

My great-grandfather Prescott was just a "dumb ol' country preacher" who didn't own anything but a KJV as far as the Bible goes and he died around 1914.

Maybe he doesn't rate anywhere on your totempole of prominent preachers, but from what I learned from his life is he was one of the best!

I guess he jist dont count!:godisgood:

1. Rippon asked an honest question.

2. You responded with "Jesus".

3. I said "Jesus did not use the KJV". A verifiable fact.

4. Then you went on rampage calling me a "lunatic" and a "heretic" (choosing your language carefully, of course) and putting words in my mouth, saying things that I did not say.

5. So, you get all bent out of shape when someone quotes a Scripture that cuts to the quick?

It didn't cut me due to it is not foundable. I know how big a fool I am without anyone trying to say I'm anything more or less.

I didn't call you anything and my words WERE chosen carefully.

Every discussion in this forum ends up attacking the KJV and anyone you call "KJVO".

Jesus used what would eventually become the KJV thus he used the KJV, or would you tell us Jesus used something the KJV isn't concerning it to be the word of God?

Choose your words carefully, God is recording all of this.

Jesus still uses the KJV, or are you, I said, ARE YOU! saying the KJV isnt the word of God?

Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses, and Christian Science all used the KJV also.

The KJV is that; a version of scripture, subject to errors, misprints and changes in meanings. Only the original manuscripts are recognized as the veritable Word of God. That is all most of us are saying, and I have used nothing in the pulpit save my 1945 KJV.

Cheers,

Jim

I've been a strict observer in this thread up until now. Your statement is patently false. I just went through this entire thread again. There isn't a single post that attacks the KJV. There are, however, numerous posts that attack KJVOism.
Jesus used what would eventually become the KJV thus he used the KJV
I will assume you're referring to the presumption that Jesus used Masoritic-type texts in his scriptural references (which is debatable, given that the Masoretes conducted their scribing between the 7th and 11th centuries). By your reckoning, Jesus used what would eventually become the Bishop's, Geneva, Tyndale, KJV, NKJV, ASV, Coverdale, Darby, Douay Rhiems, Quaker, RSV, ESV, Webster's, WYclif, and CEV Bibles.
Jesus still uses the KJV, or are you, I said, ARE YOU! saying the KJV isnt the word of God?
There's no scriptural support for the concept that Jesus uses a particular translation.
