Absolutely they should stay in the UCC.

First of all, in church groups that have been hijacked by radical liberals, little would please denominational leaders more than to have no Bible believers in the church group. The presence of Bible believers deters these people from implementing their most radical desires. Bible believers should stay to keep those people from having what they want, and from implementing even more wrongful things.

Second: in church groups that have been hijacked by radical liberals, how are attenders going to hear biblical truths if all the Bible believers depart? Bible believers in these church groups fulfill a big need.

In practice, the BWF pastors more often than not end up departing the UCC. Most of the BWF types have concluded that it's a losing battle.

The same happened with the American Baptist Evangelicals

I remember when the ABE was still around. I encouraged an American Baptist Church to withdraw and talked to the President of ABE. It was then I relayed the similarities between the American Baptists and the Downgrade, where Spurgeon saw the Baptist Union was even further down the path than he once thought. The ABE President disagreed until about 3 years later when they disbanded, he said basically what I said 3 years prior. What changed? I believe very little changed except his perception.

The UCC is even further down the path of the Downgrade. As a result, their liberalism will only have a negative impact on the local churches, including conservative churches. I would call the Pastors to be more concerned with their flock than the denomination, as God does not care about the denomination but he loves his church. Sometimes the best way to care for your flock is to remove yourself to a denomination.

Dosen't the churches get their literature from a headquarters organization? If so, the literature over time will train the laymen to reflect what the headquarters is pushing. If for no other reason than this, they should leave the UCC.

Look what happened when the immoral teachers union took over the public schools.

That's one of the tactics that conservative pastors within the UCC will take, getting literature from other sources. Many UCC churches around where I lived preferred the conservative Union Gospel Press rather than the denominational Sunday School literature. The old German UCC churches in the Midwest are much stricter theologically than the remnants of the Congregational church in the Northeast. This is not to say that the leaven hasn't worked into these churches, but not to the extremes that we hear about in other UCC congregations.

Another splinter group, called the Evangelical Association, has sprung up for conservative churches wanting to leave the UCC. The Evangelical Free Church has also absorbed some of these churches as well.
