Night shift

is so stunning on my faculties, I find I can get a belly laugh just looking at my colleagues. I feel as if my head is stuffed with cotton wool. I am on something alcoholic.

My handover in the morning rarely makes any sense whatsoever....

It takes almost a week to recover...

Since I'm not a morning person and stay up quite late (often until daylight), I preferred working nights. For one thing, I usually worked alone, which suited me. I didn't have very many co-workers I could tolerate. Now that I'm retired (That's tired and tired again ), I can stay up as late as my body wants and go to bed when I want.

Color me confused. What is Night Shift?

Ohh you lucky lucky girl....you mean you don't know! It is the time when sane folks are in bed and the insane/saintly are keeping an eye during the wee hours ...mostly community services like hospitals, firies, coppers etc.

For me the night shift starts at 2115hrs and drags to a close at 0715hrs....when I make my way home by car and drop into bed.

Oh, I know what a Night Shift is -- I just couldn't tell from your post what you were talking about. I thought maybe it was TV show or something.

Yes, that would be hard working a night shift!

I never could sleep during the day.
When I worked nights I'd get home, eat breakfast and crash for three hours. Then I'd mope around till evening when I'd get a few more hours sleep, then wake up before work feeling slightly sick and start my night.
(once I was sick and didn't know it until an hour later at work - yuck)

It's been a while since I worked nights, ...I was a drooler.

The only time I work nights now is when I volunteer at a local shelter for the homeless.
It's easier now that I'm older, I don't sleep much anyway and it gives be a reason to stay up and read.
