I flew from California to New York when I was 18 days old to come home. I was born in CA and adopted by a NY family. :) My grandmother (adopted grandmother) took me home since she worked for American Airlines at the time so flew for free.

Las Cruces. Was at the mall when they opened a Chick-filla in there and will always remember my first chicken nugget from that restaurant. (served as a sample by a guy dressed in a big yellow chicken suit)
I love their chicken nuggets, especially with honey!

My Uncle Sam owned a Cessna 172 Skyhawk. Two or three times a year he run by the house on a Sunday afternoon and ask if anyone wanted to go Skyhawking. My first flight in an airplane ended the same place it started. Not much of an airport but they kept the runway mowed and had ice cold Nehi in the office/snack bar.

First commercial flight was from BWI to Utica NY.

First flight: To Lancaster, Pa (ironically, a few years later, in a move totally unrelated to this flight, I would live in the Lancaster area). My grandparents were vacationing there and a friend of my grandfather's who had been a bomber pilot in WWII flew us there to surprise them.

First commercial flight: to Chicago. My dad had to go there on a business trip and took my mom and me with him. I was a big baseball fan and we didn't have a team, so he wanted to surprise me by taking me to see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field.

Don't remember for sure, but it seems like it was from Anchorage Alaska to Lubbock Texas, for a family reunion in 1966 or 1967. I was 13 or 14 at the time. My parents bought a VW bus, because it was too expensive to rent a car for our trip. Dad drove it back to Anchorage, with me as the "shotgun". He drove about 4500 miles in 7 days -- including one day when we were only able to go about 300 miles! A bridge approach had been washed out, and we had to wait for a Caterpillar to come re-build the approach to the bridge. The D8 got flooded out, and they brought in a D10 to do the job.

    Ah, memories!

I went nowhere. Our 5th grade class was taken to the local airport and given a free ride on single engine, 4 passenger plane. I loved it, but one boy covered his face and cowered in fear.

My first real flight (and longest) was to England in an Air Force plane in 1967 and again in 1969 back to the states. It took over 7 hours non-stop one way. I did take one month-long vacation in 1968 to and from the states when I got married.

My story is similar. A couple of my high school chums, on a whim, drove out to the airport to the general aviation building, and asked if anybody would take us for a joyride. A fella said he would for three bucks apiece. So we crawled inside this Piper Cub and off we went. That was in Jackson, TN.

First flight to anywhere. Paducah,KY to Louisville via Ozark Airlines.

As a frequent flier, no kidding!! Nothing like sitting in the middle seat in the back on a cross country trip. [I think the gate agent felt bad for me though, since she did give me two free drink tickets and moved me to an exit window for the second leg of the trip.]

San Francisco, CA to Dulles, VA when I was a junior in high school. I was with a group from my school participating in the "Close Up" program in Washington, DC. I loved flying then. Now, not so much. (and that's an understatement)
