    In another thread:

    It seems pretty obvious there are a number of angry people who post on this BB. Some remind me of a man who visited our church several years ago. He came, he looked angry and his first statement, after saying, "Hello," was quite a hostile and loud "I believe wives should be submissive to their husbands and women should never preach! Also there is only one Bible, the King James Bible!"

    I am not sure how he got from a "Hello," to those two subjects and with such anger. Maybe I should have said, "Good morning," or "God bless you." I am not sure. Maybe it was because the scripture was not read from the KJ that morning.

    Anger kills .... and usually it is the person holding the anger.

    Crabby, why are you so angry at the "far right"?

    Oh, by the way, have you read the book "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis?

    Actually I am not angry. I am concerned.

    I am extremely slow to anger. My spouse says it is one of my failings. She feels I do not get anger at times when I should.

    One thing that will anger me quicker than any other is to see one person abuse or approve of the abuse of another.

    Anger is a negative emotion is usually accomplished nothing and clouds judgment .... IMHO 99.999999% of the time anger is a waste and only harms the holder of the anger.

    Are you angry Matt?

    I can be rather passionate, and I am known to become angry. That very seldom happens here on the BB as reading/typing makes it hard to maintain anger. Having to think out and type a response also helps to defuse it. Not always, mind you, as there are a few topics that set me kindling alight.

    Some like to argue for the sake of arguing. To be able to get another riled up just makes their day.

    Sure, I get angry. I can't think of the last time I was angry about something on this board however. It just isn't worth the energy to get angry about things around here.

    I do disagree that anger is a negative emotion. There are plenty of times that anger is justified and such anger is not negative.

    Oh, by the way, have you read the book "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis?

    Totally off topic. Silly question. Why would I have posted what I did if I had not? Now back to the question at hand.

    Do you see anger as a negative with people who seem to be angry all the time?

    Does it make you angry that I asked you the question? Why do you refuse to answer it with a simple yes or no? Why would you have posted that if you didn't read the book? I don't know...you tell me.

    Yes, I see anger as a negative in you and your anger toward the "right wing".

    I get angry at stupid stuff and don't get angry at stuff I should....

    We had an older guy at work, his name was Ken. Just the most pleasant coworker you could have, except about once a year he would explode and I mean explode. Stuff would just build up and something would trigger and it was always a nasty mess to clean up. I figure those of us that pop off quick and move on are a little better off.

    Then there are the women~~I've found in 20+ years in the plant that women tend to hold the grudges and be bitter with their coworkers far longer than the guys...and that can't be good either.

    I have to work harder on my anger issues. Two quotes from Amy Carmichael's "If":

    "If monotony tries me, and I cannot stand drudgery;
    if stupid people fret me and little ruffles set me on edge;
    if I make much of the trifles of life,
    then I know nothing of Calvary love.

    If interruptions annoy me, and private cares make me impatient;
    if I shadow the souls about me because I myself am shadowed,
    then I know nothing of Calvary love."

    ...yeah I'm pretty good and getting set on edge, making much of trifles and shadowing those around me...

    Heavens no. It simply makes me laugh and wonder what is wrong with the silly person asking such silly questions.

    As I said, it is a silly question. Why post about what I have not read?

    But I am not angry. I am concerned. If the left were acting as irresponsible as the right, or if the left acts so irresponsible in the future I will post about that also. We simply are in an era that, for whatever reason, the right is not acting rationally and is harming the nation. And in the long run they will loose out as a party, whether right or left cannot move too far from center and remain a viable national party. We NEED two parties, two responsible parties that will oppose each rationally, but will negotiate and find common gound. We do not have that at this time.

    I have always been pretty much in the middle. There are those here who are so far right they cannot see the middle. Their believe seems to be if anyone disagrees with them on one iota they are the enemy. This can be seen in how they turn on someone who dares to vote once in a way they do not like.

    This silly person was asking the silly question because some other silly person, who uses silly fonts, has ignored the question repeatedly on the original thread.

    I don't know, why would you? Why when you were asked specific questions about your take on the book did you refuse to answer? Why bring up a topic about a book and be unwilling to discuss the book? I don't know why you do a lot of things you do, let alone why you would post about a book that you haven't read.

    You consistently support the Democratic Party. You show support for the majority of their platform. You act as if you have voted once for that party and there is only "one iota" of disagreement between you and the majority of this board. That's simply not true and you know it.

    an interesting question to pose:

    Would you rather be angry and honest, or calm and intellectually dishonest?

    Any resemblance of the above question to particular posters, whether living or dead, is pretty darn funny.

    No, I'm not angry, why do you ask?

    Are we having some sort of counseling session? If so, let me grab a couch and some coffee. This could be fun!

    If you are not angry is it that you simply cannot stay on topic?

    How is it that I am off topic, yet I'm just replying to your questions? Wouldn't that make you off topic as well?

    Are you angry Crabby?

    No. But I am amused at your antics.

    Do you feel anger is good or bad? I mean a deep, long lasting, life controlling anger. Why or why not?

    Oh, so it you that needs the counseling? You should have said so! Yes, I do believe that your deep, long lasting, life controlling anger is bad. You really need to release it or it will consume you. Developing a hobby or playing a sport may help you to release some frustration you feel.

    On the contrary, that is exactly how I've determined that you have a deep, long lasting, life controlling anger.
