Yeah I've known potheads,who were losers...and I've known "cannabis consumers" who excel in ALL areas of their lives.

Did you ever think...Hey, maybe...those Losers smoke pot, rather than, ...Pot turned those people into losers ?

Please give us an example.

And I would wager that the "losers" far outnumber the "excellers".

BTW the legal issues were the deceiding factor....unless I move to State that has compassion for folk's with incurable chronic diesases.

I started to give you an answer, then deceided it's not really worth the effort. Do your own research, start with the father of our country, George Washington, end with Bill Gates.

I'll choose being called a fundy as opposed to a pot head any day of the week. The Bible tells us to be high on the Holy Spirit and not some substance that destroys both the lungs and the mind.

Weed... it's natural.... Give me a break. Hemlock is natural too but I wouldn't be in a hurry to brew a pot of hemlock tea. The days of natural cannabis are long gone. Cannabis sativa and cannabis indica have long been hybridized well beyond their natural state.

What about the long-term side effects? What about the immediate effects of impaired judgment, loss of motor skills and perception? The OP cited some scientists in favor of the medical use of marijuana. How about some science that opposes it:

And I agree with your science. People who abuse the drug suffer side effects. I agree that abuse of the drug is bad. People who aren't sick should not use drugs. People who sell the drug to kids should be put away with.

Addicts will go to any extent to justify their behavior.

Yes they will. I remember how hard it is to quit. But the fact is, there are people who have led very productive lives, who have advanced knowledge, that are pot smokers. Everything can be abused, but to everything, there is a purpose. The healing qualities of the plant should be explored.

Agreed...God made everything with a purpose. Why do you believe that the purpose of marijuana is to smoke or ingest it? Couldn't there be some other use for it? If you smoke enough nutmeg you'll catch a buzz too, but I don't think nutmeg was put here for that purpose.

I tried to get high off of nutmeg when I was 15. Did not work for me. How about you ?
