Check out this new blog by an up and coming theologian: http://paroikosmissionarykid.blogspot.com/ This theologian is being published in several top theological journals this year, and is a voice worth listening to, especially in the field of Petrine studies. He is currently working on his Ph. D. dissertation under noted Greek professor David alan Black: "A FOREKNOWN DESTINY FOR THE DESTITUTE: AN EXAMINATION OF 1 PETER’S CONCEPT OF FOREKNOWLEDGE IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SOCIAL IDENTITY."

Oh yes--a disclaimer. There is a close connection between me, John of Japan, and this theologian.

I was moved by his first article. After the scholarly first part, I had my own theology updated by his teaching on the church as our earthly home.

It is a definite one for my reader!!! What a great blessing to not only see your child walking with the Lord but also teaching others in the faith. John - you have a right to be proud. :)

This up and coming scholar presented his first paper at the Evangelical Theological Society national meeting in Atlanta on Nov. 18, 2010 (he had presented as a student at regional meetings): ““The Use of the Aorist Imperative in the Pastoral Epistles."

He also just had a paper accepted to appear in "Science and Christian Belief," a journal affiliated with Oxford U.: "The Emergent, Self-explaining Universe of Paul Davies."

Great read. As the 'new kid on the block' who is sucking as much information as possible, very interesting. Will keep an eye.
