If God saves all infants then when everyone is born they are elect, then at some point some people become non-elect?

um...no

You could say that God has elected all infants that die. A person that goes to hell was never elected. It doesn't even make sense to say one was elect and then non elect. Either God chose before the foundation of the world or He didn't.

Thank you very much for answering my question. I don't think ewf saw the ? mark at the end of my question, not my statement.

So based on this belief, God does not have mercy on some infants and they go to hell. Like Jacob and Esau, correct?

As stated before, Im not ecumenicated like some in here so I is only giving my understanding. Besides neither Jakey or Hairy died as infants.

Romans 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth....
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

No they didn't die as infants, but they were chosen or not chosen before they were born. So do you think God chooses some infants for salvation and some for hell?

Calvinists use this verse to explain how God loves one person but hates another. To be consistent, a Cal should believe that God uses this same "choosing" whether one dies as an infant or an adult, yet many will say God saves all infants. Does that make sense to you?

I'll have to agree with Amy, in all honesty it is indeed a cop out. Why is an infant any different than any other sinner? What you are inadvertently doing is creating another dispensation of salvation. The salvation of mankind is NOT nor ever has been a mystery. We have God's Word telling us exactly how sinners are saved, by grace through faith. If you maintain Augustine's position on their condition, you must also maintain the Bible's position on dealing with sinners.

Tell that to the 1689 Confessions of Faith

I only know about my own son's dying in infantry. And that is personal, Between Me & God & my faith that He is God & I am not.

Which is it?

What do you mean "which is it?" They are not contradictory. Nobody is born saved. I believe babies/infants go to heaven. they were born unsaved. Christ's redemption on the cross covers their sins.

How does one who was born unsaved go to heaven before they have been saved?
