We spend a lt of time telling others what we do not believe. That we should not be labled names other people give us in theology. I taught it would be good to allow people to place their own labels on what they believe. Now many do not like labels. I can understand this. But this maybe helpful for every one, to let others know just where you stand. Below you will find a list of theology groups.

1) Hyper-Calvinist

2) Calvinist

3) Arminian

4) semi-Pelagian/hyper-Arminian

5) Pelagian

Where would the poster place their theology?

I understand that some will not take on a label here. For those I would sak you to say something like this...

I'm somewhere between Calvinism and Arminianism....and this is the doctrines I hold to, that places me there. I agree with all the doctrines of Calvinism but limited atonement and irresistible grace, therefore I am in the middle.

My guess is that many will not post, even with them posting on all other threads. Some times people just don't want to admit where they are. They just attack others but never give what they view is a better way of looking at it.

Anglican is not a theological position. It is a denomination. An Anglican can be any of the above.

I am an Infralapsarian Calvinist, but I am also one who feels that the term "Calvinist" (and with it Arminian) have long since exhausted their usefulness. We use them, largely because they are the descriptors handed down to us, but they no longer do a good job of detailing one's true theological position like they once might have.

I can honestly say before heaven and earth - none of the above.

In essence, I don't see the distinction problem in terms of His absolute sovereignty in God empowering only a select few to believe vs. giving the collective that empowerment and allowing whosoever will to act upon that empowerment.

If Jesus is correct that all things are possible with God then either could be true (and even both given enough of the facts).

Obviously Jesus must be correct, all things are possible with God.

Both camps able to make compelling arguments adding to my perplexity.

I know there would be disdain by some on either side in even allowing the possibility of the other view.

In addition, the fruit of the Spirit appears to be in all the camps (presuming the individuals within having been born of the Spirit).

This has been my experience having been in both camps (and mixed assemblies) by way of church membership, fellowship and Christian Education and have felt comfortable in all environments (given the absence of a raging debate).

So, I guess in terms of labels, I am a one who is "undecided" (some would say a "sitter-on-the-fence" and I accept that label but don't endorse it).

Also as being one who sits on the sidelines watching the sparring brethren (I am a Mixed Martial Arts [MMA] fan) but not partcipating.

A little off subject - I have found one common uniting force - the pot"luck" dinner. For the most part everyone wholeheartedly approves of this event both in doctrine and practice.

There is an Idea....can we do that James Arthur? Erasmus was a humanist thus a Humanism! Or Bach played the organ, thus an organism (or maybe organist) Ah!

It strikes me just how much some of you misunderstand these positions. There, literally, is no way to be somewhere along the continuum of theological position between one extreme and the other. Not accepting the label that goes with the position is fine, I'm in that camp myself, but I know where I stand in regards to position.

Those positions are all-encompassing. A position #6 would be pagan or absolutely un-believing.
