What does this make me

1. I believe in the one true and living God, Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one.

2. I believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures are the written word of God and they are the only rule of our faith and practice.

3. I believe in the doctrine of election by grace

4. I believe the doctrine of original sin, and man’s impotency to rescue himself from the fallen state he is in by nature by his own freewill ability.

5. I believe that sinners are called converted, regenerated and sanctified by the Holy Spirit and all are so regenerated and born again by the spirit of God shall never fall finally away.

6. I believe sinners are justified in the sight of God only by the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ.

7. I believe that Baptism, the Lord's Supper, and feet washing are ordinances of Jesus Christ and that true believers are the only proper subjects of these ordinances, and we believe the only true mode of baptism is by immersion.

8. I believe in the resurrection of the dead and general judgment and that the joys of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal.

What do all these things make me? A sinner saved by the grace of God through the imputed righteous of Jesus Christ made manifest as the perfect sacriface on Calvery's hill. As for the labels above I really don't know where this fits in but for me it identifies me as an Old Regular Babtist.

I would say that you are a Particular Baptist, of the Old Regular Babtist persuasion.

I am a Particular Baptist of the Primitive Baptist persuasion. I do consider myself a Calvinist as far as TULIP is concerned though. After that, I know little of Calvinism.

So, I guess in terms of labels, I am a one who is "undecided" (some would say a "sitter-on-the-fence" and I accept that label but don't endorse it).

Also as being one who sits on the sidelines watching the sparring brethren (I am a Mixed Martial Arts [MMA] fan) but not partcipating.

HankD

`You are now officially labeled a MugWump.

That's somebody who sits on the fence with his mug on one side and his wump on the other

I'm beginning to like the acronym which apparently was coined by somebody here on the Baptist Board. Since I hold to the Doctrines of Grace (another way of saying Calvinism), I think I am going to formally adopt the label: DoG.

Being called "Dog" would not be my preference.I'll stick with the term 'Calvinist' despite all the trash that has and shall be thrown at it.

I see your point. You are what you are, and putting different label on it doesn't change it.

And in the American South where I grew up there's an expression, not a compliment, to throw at somebody. Egg-suckin' dog. I'm waiting for some Calvinism-hater to call me an egg-sucking DoG.

Somehow, egg-suckin' Calvinist doesn't quite fit.

I remember a time when what I believed, trash was being thrown at me. That I went into a corner and said this is what I believe and I am being attacked for it or something like that and you know what they told me, stop trying to be a martyr.

I am a DoGtF, Doctrine of Grace through faith. Grace already happen, while we were sinners Christ died for us. Without the words about Jesus and the words of Jesus you have no faith to enter grace. As you are dead in your transgression in sin and your iniquity, you can come through the words of Jesus which is the Spirit and life you are missing to believe. It doesn't provide you one road but two to continue down the path that leads to death unbelief or believe in Him and be saved. This is when we either give up on our freewill to sin and follow the Spirit. Then just say as the song say's "Jesus take the wheel" and just say Jesus I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief and He will lead us to life eternal, or just continue the way you have been going. We are going to make mistakes but just get back on the road with Christ, He will not lose anyone He has been given.

What about baby or people who never hear the message that died. People that you can never reach. All I can say is God is just, and He will be just with them.

Wouldn't Jesus say this Do you think that they were worse sinners than you because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

It is not about them it is about you those who hear the message, what are you and those who hear it going to do about it.

We spend a lt of time telling others what we do not believe. That we should not be labled names other people give us in theology. I taught it would be good to allow people to place their own labels on what they believe. Now many do not like labels. I can understand this. But this maybe helpful for every one, to let others know just where you stand. Below you will find a list of theology groups.

1) Hyper-Calvinist

2) Calvinist

3) Arminian

4) semi-Pelagian/hyper-Arminian

5) Pelagian

Where would the poster place their theology?

I understand that some will not take on a label here. For those I would sak you to say something like this...

Question; what are you?
Answer; A Christian with no other title. Anything other then that comes of sin.
