I have heard, or read, the argument put forward that this election is pertaining to race, and not salvation.
well, if it is, what does doing good, or bad, have anything to do with it ?

If you are speaking of race in relation to Abraham, the NT makes it quite clear the Lord is not talking about geneology, but a new birth. You know, there is no Greek or Jew, lots of people of different types at assembled before the Lord in Revelation. As far as what good, bad etc has to to with salvation, you lost me. None of us is good, no not one. Christ said the Father is good. Christ transforms our lives. A good or bad life style might be an indicator of the reality of a salvation experience.
