Many years ago I encountered a group of Bap[tist who believe that if you are not their specific brand of baptist and baptized into their brand of churches then you aren't part of the bride. You will be a guest at the marriage supper but you want be a part of the bride. Anyone else heard this and if you are one of these please explain the basis of the doctrine.

This is similar to the Baptist Bride view, held by many Landmarkers.
As explained to me by an old Landmark Baptist preacher many years ago, since the church Jesus established during his earthly ministry was Baptist, it is the one true Bride There may be Christians in other denominations, but only Baptist comprise the Bride. Therefore, only Baptists will be seated at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb; all others will have to stand around the walls and watch.
Sounds about right to me.

It's a bunch of horse-hockey that cannot be Biblical substantiated.
Some of them also believe that to be a "Brider" that you have to have been baptized by someone who was baptized by someone who was baptized by someone.......
........all the way back to John the Baptist.
A baptismal "pedigree", if you will.

Although I have some Landmark tendencies, I'm not a full-fledged one. I'm not a Baptist Brider, but I am a local church-only kinda guy. No Universal church for me.
But your comment about the baptismal family tree may be worth pursuing. I have a book in my library in which the author seeks to show Baptist succession through the baptismal route.
The opposite of the succession view is that some believers were baptized by unbaptized people Or, in the case of Smythe, he baptized himself.
That is a big can of worms to me.
These were not Landmark baptist. I also know an ordained minister from our independnet church who preached at on of their churches they were ready to call him to be their pastor and guess what since he hadn't been baptized into their church, he had been immersed in a baptist church, they said he was required to be rebaptized before he could be there pastor. He didn't become their pastor.
