I am a person who holds to the TULIP model of salvation, pre trib pre mill..
Also believe in non-cessiasion on Spiritual gifts...

Based upon the various posting on different topics here on the BB...

Is there really room in our Baptist circles for those of us here holding to either Armenion Theolgy, or else believe that Gifts are operating today?

Seems that we here have pretty much decided that only Calvinist need to apply?

The Calvinist stream of Baptist tradition is only one of the streams. General Baptists (Arminians) have also been around for a long time. Neither has exclusive claim to the "Baptist" moniker.

That is what I hold to also, its just seems that we tend to be so dramatic while discussings things like grace/salvation etc!

just suggesting that based on the "heat" being generated on the bb whenever we discuss TULIP/Grace/Free Will/ Gifts etc...

Seems that almost we are saying "real " baptists are of the 5 point TULIP/Calvinst/cessionist only group!

Real baptists are those who are covered by the blood of Christ. We are not saved by theology, but by grace through faith. Theology is something we come in agreement with(whether it be FW or DoG, or any other theology) after we are saved.

I thought we have shown a vast array & one major hallmark of Baptists is Individual Soul Liberty. BTW, Im Reformed & believe in a continuance of Gifts.

General Baptists are not Arminians.

I would say that in some Baptist circles the Spiritual gifts issue is a non issue, to their credit.

In other Baptist circles it is a BIG negative issue, to their shame.

Needless to say, their should be room for the Spiritual gifts in any Baptist felloship, provided it doesnt turn into a 3 ring circus, and its not that heretical Word of Faith, "God wants you Rich if you send me $1000", nonsense.
