Men's Sunday School class in need of something to study

Our Men's sunday school class is in need of a new "study" starting next sunday.

The class consists of all ages mostly over 40. Both married and single. Some have kids, some have grandkids, some have neither.

It is a small class, less than 10 so far. I would like to do some sort of bible study but none of us are really "teachers".

Any suggestions?

Other classes have quarterlies that they study out of but for some reason we don't. I will look into that but I thought I would let you all give me some advice too. Thanks.

For the last month our SS class has been studying the Holy Spirit. It is a fascinating study I would recommend to anybody. I have not seen such excitement and interest in a long time. Our pastor is basing this study on John R. Rice's famous book "The Power of Pentacost". Many say this is the best and most detailed study of the Holy Spirit ever written. I know I am enjoying these classes.

John MacArthur Bible study guides, going through a book of the Bible usually in 13 weeks, are good for shorter BIble books. Also, IVP have great studies as does Matthias Media. James is never a bad book to start with. David Platt's "Radical" is must read and almost every small group at our church has gone through it.

Good suggestion. I believe I have all of Gary's books.

Yes, I have enjoyed also:

Friendship: The Risks and Rewards (David and Jonathan Study)
A Call to Excellence: (Wonderful Book)

I want to read:

True North and also The Parables.

Do you read William Lane Craig?

No I haven't read Craig's work.
But Gary Inrig's work, any of his books would make a good study.

The book by John McArthur "Twelve Ordinary Men" would be good and that could be picked up at most book stores I would imagine.

A little late and probably more involved than what the OP is looking for. My idea for the next book in my SS class is: A Call to Spiritual Reformation,: Priorities from Paul and His Prayers by D.A. Carson

How about some financial studies from Crown ministries, formally known as larry Burkett

Our cell group went thru it 3 times, and learned something new each time!
