NEITHER! 2Cor 5:17Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
WE died in Christ! Now we are new! It is not about natures.
We are new, but don't we still have our old nature that caused us to sin still in us though?
Once again MHO the HS in you is Christ in you the hope of glory. Glory equaling the new nature, your salvation that is closer today than yesterday.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Read 2 Cor. 5:17 in the Greek Interlinear Bible (NT) scripture4all.org or in the
Westcott & Hort GNT - Literal Translation For I believed they support of what I posted in post 25 in the two natures of man. This passage in 2 Cor is speaking of Jesus as the new creation of man and in the resurrected Jesus the original man passed away and the new man begin and we through the HS have the confidence of this being true.
It is through this resurrected new man Jesus the son of God we received the Holy Spirit. Paul in Gal. 3:2 calls this the hearing of faith.
YLT this only do I wish to learn from you -- by works of law the Spirit did ye receive, or by the hearing of faith?

We don't have two natures.
Read the Chapter in Romans, 7, where he gives his personall testimony of what happens to a Christian who trys to live for God out of his flesh/old self, and Chapter 8, where one finds victory by keeping the flesh daily crucufied, and walking in the HS!
I did not say we have two natures. I said I believe the passage in 2 cor 5 is speaking of Jesus as the new creation and post 25 in the other thread backs that up.

The only thing new about us is we have the Holy Spirit which is only the earnest of the nature we shall become.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Is that verse speaking of one who has the Holy Spirit? Yes or No.
Does he still have sin? Yes or No.
Is he a new sinless and unable to sin creation? No or Yes.
Will he experience the following? In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Yes or No.
Will he after that moment still have sin and or be able to sin? No or Yes.
Will he then be a new creation in the image of the firstborn of many brethren? Yes or No.
Does the following verse also describe him to a tee? Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Yes or No.
That is a new nature and a new creation different from the nature of the first man Adam.
Then we will have had two natures.

Paul, in Romans 7, talks about a war going on inside him. I think the war is between the old nature and the new one. That would explain his lament that the things he wants to do, he doesn't; and the things he doesn't want to do, he does.
This is consistent with the view that when we were unsaved, the old nature pretty much had its way with us. At regeneration, we are given the new nature to do battle with the old one.

No Paul is not talking about himself. Read the first verse. He is talking about those who know the law. He is trying to get them to come all the way to Christ and dump the law. We do not have two natures.

We are now sons and daughters of God. Our nature is changed. There is a potenial for sin because of freewill. The old nature is under the curse, now we have Christ as our advocate. If we sin, we repent and believe the gospel. Renew your minds.

We do not have a new nature residing in us. We are the new nature. The old man died with Christ. We are a new creation. Our nature is not something seperate from us. It is us!

A Christian has both the old and now a new nature. Contrary to what some self-righteous posters say, we can choose to obey either nature. The lost person can only obey the old nature, they don't have an other one to obey. We, as Christians have been set free from sin and have the ability to please God. If you don't believe this read the books of Romans and Galatians.
Why is it gobbly goo?
Is every man born not born with the nature of which Adam was either created with or became after eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil?
Lets say he is "saved" at age 10 and lives until the age of 75. Because of that nature is he likely or not to continue to sin until he dies?
The moment he is resurrected to eternal life will he ever sin again?
If the answer is no. Why not? Will it be because of his nature?
It is not gobbly goo. It is the very truth of the word of God and if it isn't please show me from scripture.
