"If you've justified by Christ, if you've been pardoned by Christ, if you've been cleansed by Christ, then you have also been set free from the bondage of sin by Christ as well. If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed."

I preached this yesterday in my sermon based on an observation which has concerned me as of late. I have met too many professing Christians who are always looking backward rather than looking forward. The Christian life is to be lived in hopeful expectation for our future, not in constant regret and guilt about our past. The old man has passed away, behold all things are made new!

1Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

2Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? 4But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

5I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

6My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

7Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
