What does it cost you to follow Christ? Everything. The sad reality is that many people are just part of a crowd, many are in the crowd of those who listen to Piper, Washer, Conway, MacArthur, yet they themselves have not truly submitted to the Lordship of Christ. Search yourself out this very day... have you come to saving faith? Or do you just wish you had the reality of Christ that you see others have? Don't be part of the wrong crowd...

"It is purchased with the total complete surrender of your life to Christ. That's what saving faith is." WE purchase?? WE purchase salvation (saving faith, as he calls it)??

Lordship salvation is something YOU purchase. Biblical salvation is something CHRIST purchased. MacArthur and the rest. ptt. Sure there is discipleship, but it has nothing to do with how to be saved.

This is a small church here in my county that changed its name from New Life Baptist Church to New Life Community Church, yet retaining the Baptist doctrine and distinctives.

It's pretty bold to claim that people listening to a few certain preachers have not submitted to the Lordship of Christ.

Scripture does call on us to examine ourselves to see if we are of the faith. We do need to challenge people to do this. However, the two (having heard certain people speak and our individual salvation) are not linked as is supposed in the OP.

How are you supposed to "test the spirits" without being exposed to them? The real answer is to listen to preachers and read the works of different authors, hear different speakers....always with your Bible open.

What is troubling is that they borderline works salvation and mingle doctrine to have the hearers think they need to DO something to be saved, or to have "saving faith" as the video expressed.

The truth is you are not a Baptist church. This is a Baptist only forum. What association do you belong to?

So what makes a Baptist church? The sign outside or the doctrine inside? We are independent. This is my last post about this as it is off topic. If you'd like, contact the moderator or administrator and they can certainly judge whether or not I qualify to post here and I will gladly abide by their decision.
