Typical. Anyone that disagrees with you on this topic is uneducated, right?

Oh, and instead of bashing others for their grammar, why don't you check that you properly capitalize words?

Which word? Biblical? When used as an adjective, it is not capitalized. Therefore, "Bible" and "biblical."

Oh, and it's not disagreeing with me that makes someone's opinion uneducated, it's disagreeing with all reputable scholars, egalitarian and complementarian, that makes an opinion uneducated.

Oh...you probably mean "English." Whatever.

 so now "all" scholars believe the husband of one wife is not necessarily a man.

Maybe this is the great falling away...

Don't assume everyone you dialogue with is an uneducated hick, btw.

So now no scholars are reputable unless they agree with your position? You are utterly ridiculous.

Of course I mean English. You failed to capitalize it in the same sentence that you were bashing someone for their grammar. That's a bit hypocritical of you, don't you think? Of course we are all used to your hypocritical nature.

You don't even know what "uneducated" is. It has nothing to do with disagreeing with anyone else.

So, is it okay for women to covet their neighbor's husband?

Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

No gender mentioned in the above verse, so it obviously applies to both sexes.

by the way... verse 10 tells that loving one's neighbor is the fulfilling of the law. All are commanded to love, male and female alike. So yes, the "Thou shalt not covet" applies to the female as well as the male.

The liberal types that rely on their minds and scholars instead of the Holy Spirit come up with all kind of non biblical things.

There's that old false liberal accusation again. It has already been shown that many conservative churches have ordained women for a hundred years.

In your practice of submission, do you require your wife to walk three steps behind you? Just wondering....

Conservative churches do not ordain women.

Where has this been shown?

Don't read much, do you?

Holiness denominations, among others, have ordained women from the start.

In your practice of liberalism, do you abort babies? (see we can all attempt to classify someone on the extreme range of a view point)

You lie if you call me a liberal.

Sure you can, don't ordain women.

:)

Still, I think it's clear that this is not a liberal-conservative issue.

But we've gone 'round and 'round over this on this forum, and I don't think anybody's going to change anybody else's mind. So, probably no use in discussing it further.

Of course, there is no biblical reason why women should submit to men, since we are all called to submit to each other in light of Eph. 5. Neither is there any biblical reason women cannot preach or teach.

You just contradicted yourself in the same sentence. If we are all called to submit, that includes women, right? My wife is called to submit to me in Eph. 5. and I am called to submit to my wife in Eph. 5 as well. In addition, Church members are called to submit to the Elders/Overseeers.

As for preaching at teaching, that's harder, since Paul speaks of women beings silent, not allowed to teach a man, then speaks of them praying (with head covered) and priscilla helping to teach Apollos. Taken as a whole, I believe the biblical teaching to be sacrificial Male headship in the home, and Male Overseers in the church. (If I didn't believe this, my wife probably would not have married me, since she was looking for that kind of leadership.).

However, Female preachers is the LEAST of the problems with Robert Schuller and his church...abandoning the Gospel on national television comes to mind.

No where in Ephesians 5 is the man called to submit to the wife. Paul goes from talking to the church to talking about the marriage. He does not begin talking to the marriage until v.22
