Are you saying to obey Jesus is to eat from him? So then, if you come to Jesus and do not eat/obey, then how is Jesus going to be in you?
You are so fixated on "eating" Jesus. I am not so sure you ever left the RCC.

Very funny, really, but now tell me how you eat Jesus. Are you ready to accept that eating Jesus is obeying him?

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.

John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Eating of the bread of life, (verse 48), is a one time event. It is the same as believing in Jesus, something a person does but one time in their life. I trusted Christ when I received him as my Savior many years ago. Read the verses. That is what Jesus says. Trust him by faith and faith alone. Salvation is by faith, and results in eternal security. That is what is being taught here.

Believing in Jesus is as drinking. Do you live by drinking alone? No. We must drink and eat. Jesus says we must eat of him; he is the bread from heaven. We must eat every day we must obey every day. Eating is obeying.

Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

If only you could understand what Jesus meant when He said that.

Go ahead and explain, Steadfast Fred, tell us why God saves those He saves. Tell us how someone can believe nothing until after they are saved, yet they believe enough to be saved. Tell us how you only have to drink to live and not eat. Tell us how you only have to eat of Jesus once. Wisdom proves you wrong.

The Word of God proves you wrong, Moriah. You just refuse to heed the Word of God.

Jesus told the woman at the well that if she drank of His water she would never thirst again. He was offering her Salvation. A one time acceptance of Christ saves completely. One doesn't have to drink over and over and over.

Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit when he spoke to the woman at the well and drinking water.
We are to drink of his blood; we have to keep believing, and stay in the faith. We are to eat of his flesh, obey his word. Every day we drink and eat.

Sounds like a good line for a science fiction vampire movie, but no thanks. (they did have to have their daily dose of blood and had to bite through flesh to get it)

I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago.

Believing is drinking, and obeying is eating.

John 6:53
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

John 6:54
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:55
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

John 6:56
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

You say, "No thanks" to Jesus.

Jesus says we have to eat his flesh and drink his blood; you compared it to a vampire move and said no thanks.

You said we have to eat His flesh and drink His blood daily. Where is that in Scripture?

I''ll tell you... NOWHERE! In making it a daily requirement, you twist the Word of God into a vampirish fairy tale.

Matthew 6:11
Give us today our daily bread.

Luke 11:3
Give us each day our daily bread.

Jesus said pray give us each day our daily bread. That is bread every day.

John 6:58
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.”

Did you hear what Jesus said? Jesus says he who “feeds on this bread.” That is not a one time thing.

Baptists do, in the sense that jesus meant it, every time we take Communion!

As Jesus was pointing to the act of his Death upon the Cross, where His blood was shed, and he died!

ALL who receive Him by faith have "eaten his bllod/flesh!" as that act of jesus it spoke to was what got them saved!
