This is a very simple poll. Were you ever compelled to sin, forced to sin, or did you sin by choice?

have you ever sinned by omission, not even realising was sinning, as when having anger issues as a baby, because not getting their way?

And the very reason that we chose to sin is because that is our very nature, its doing what comes 'natural" to us!

Oh, you mean like Moses when he cried?

Exo 2:6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

Boy, that Moses sure was evil, he was crying. I bet he was making a real fuss. Naughty baby.

What about sinning in ignorance of the law, ie, not knowing any better?

I think I fell more into that category more often than not, but there were times that I deliberately sinned. For a long time I would try and rationalize my behavior, but in the end I knew that I was wrong and repented... I think most people struggle with sin, because they would rather believe they don't sin.

he could very well been crying due to him not getting his way!

babies are NOT born in a state of sinless perfection and grace, for they are sinners, which gets evidenced early on!

Ceegen, we welcome you to the board. But I see from your Profile that you have listed yourself as "no denomination." Since you are not affiliated with a Baptist Church of any kind would you please confine your posting to those forums which are for non-Baptists.
    Thank you for your compliance.

    Fine.

But aren't we supposed to be one body in Christ?

    Off I go now.

No, we're not forced to sin. We just do what comes natural to us. Like a dog eating his own vomit.

What are you saying? Are you saying it is your nature to sin? Wouldn't this mean you are compelled by your nature to sin?

Or do you choose to sin?

Can you choose not to sin?

I'm saying we sin because it's in our nature to do so.
I can remember my son when he was just a few months old, pulling up in his crib and shaking it while having a screaming fit because I was busy doing something and could not pick him up. We are self centered, not God centered, from birth.

So, before you were saved and received the Spirit you were utterly unable to say no to sin? Were you compelled and forced to sin every time you were tempted?

And it comes natural to us because of Eve. No! No! It was really Adam's fault but Eve made him do it!:laugh:

It's not about being able to do something right. It's about not being able to be right. Even one sin proves you are a sinner. It proves sin was in you all along.

You are changing the subject. I am not denying that we all sin. My poll question was not are any here without sin. Quit trying to deflect.

The question is whether you are absolutely compelled and forced to sin, or whether you choose to sin.

If you don't want to answer, fine, but don't change the subject, and that is exactly what you are trying to do.

I can answer straight up, I have sinned MANY MANY times in my life, but NEVER was I forced or compelled to sin, even before I accepted Christ and was saved. I ALWAYS chose to sin.

I haven't looked, but why don't you simply choose an answer from the poll?

I am amazed that so few have answered the poll. What? Doesn't anyone here know whether they were compelled to sin or not? Why are people afraid to answer?

    Very revealing.

I think Paul explains it best in Romans 7.

If my parents was con-artist and pick pockets and teaching me those traits, then that will be me until someone comes in my life and forces me to change through some kind of discipline.

I will be bound by my nature until I am giving new direction.

If we was raised by wolves just imagine what we would became.

We have parents and it is them who teaches us to fight our nature and do the right things. It does not mean our nature is not there waging war against us.

When you ignore something for so long, it might not seem it is there, but it is waiting for a weakness. That trial, that tribulation.

There is something in us that can fight against our will, it just isn't our will.

If given another direction, yes we can make another choice. I believe it is the free agency, it only knows to follow it's will the will of the flesh until taught not to.

The Holy Spirit is the only teacher to direct us to God.

No, I haven't been compelled to sin, but sinned by choice. No one is ever forced to sin. Sin is simply a choice to do the wrong thing.
