Hmmm...interesting that Islam is 600 years 'younger' than Christianity: go back 600 years, even 400 or 500 years, and Christians were merrily burning each other at the stake for alleged heresy. Go back a bit further and bands of 'peaceful Christians' were eirenically rampaging through the Rhineland massacring Jews because they thought they were to blame for the Black Death.

So I hardly think that Islam has a monopoly on being stupidly violent.
