So, with regard to politics, we are to reject the less than ideal in favor of (by paving the way for) the bad?

You don't have to buy it. The Bible is full of accounts of folks trying to fix things their way instead of obeying God.

In terms of politics, The word of God says still says In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight Pro. 3:6

So try rejecting anything that's against God. He didn't tell you to divide His house between what He commands and what you feel to be less than ideal but better than something else.

14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, [j]natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and [k]selfish ambition exist, [l]there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [m]reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. says who? Are you saying that morals of a person only count for the office of pastor and nothing else?

My point again, we are voting for the president. Do you want the president to have good morals? Sure we do. We are not voting for a pastor. If we were, then we wouldn't have voted for any of them.

We should acknowledge God in all our ways.

I agree. And I also believe if the 78% had been acknowledging God, they wouldn't have set to elect a man who is against God.

 

I think our attitude towards the brethren with whom we disagree is more of a predictor of any falling away than an election is- 1 John 5:1,2.

 

Zaac, what do you believe the difference is between voting for a president and doing business with an unbeliever; and if there is, why? Both are, in a sense being hired to do a job.
