Thank you for all of your very constructive comments on such a controversial topic.
It's too late to apologize.
You are right Zaac. I could not imagine what it would be like to live in a category that is despised, and be told that God despises me also. And this is what so many of the "undesirables" hear from the Church to the point that the only way they see out is to take their own lives.

Apologize? For what would I apologize? For raising a question? It's too late to apologize.

Look, Zaac, that is a ridiculous statement. I have dealt fact to face with the homosexual crowd in my area. No one killed themself, and no one was told forgiveness was not an option. But we did like Jesus and told them that we did not condemn them, but to go and sin no more.
As far as my message to Alvin, I said that tongue in cheek because he was given every opportunity to have an honest dialogue and would not do it. The first post I answered to him was an honest opinion by me. The next asked him to clarify what he meant by an unclear post. I was not rude, nor did I call him names. He was the one that was rude and chose not to respond in a civilized manner. So take your false accusations, lies, whatever you want to call them, and look in the mirror. Tell your "buddy" to do the same. Even now he tries to circumvent the moderators and open the thread up again.
Forget it, I should have known it would go over your head. At least you proved you can answer someone besides Zaac. Maybe there is hope for you to discuss things in a civil manner. You should have apologized for your rudeness, but you did not, nor did you even see how rude you were being. Congrats.
Look Bronconagurski. You apparently don't get it. When folks hear you screaming that about their sin all the time while never doing the same with every other sin, they tend to think that they are beyond the point of being forgiven.
You may not have experienced anyone killing themselves over this, but I sure have. And it is a wicked, wicked thing that the church does.
In just looking at the other thread, it's very obvious that some on here like a lot of the church do more than say go and sin no more. You attach a stigma to particular sins that often, these individuals see no escape from and they take their lives.
Again, thank you all for a most interesting review of how controversial topics are managed among SOuthern Baptists. The most revealing is the fact this thread was removed. Why? What danger lie in critical thinking?
The first thread was removed. Then we are agreed we are not to use the OT in the condemnation of homosexuals and homosexuality?1. You do realize this is not an SBC thread, right? So this board proves nothing about the SBC, except perhaps as a comparison with the more broad sampling of baptists on this site.
2. Btw, 3 different scripture passages in the NT address homosexuality, all refer to it as sinful and against God's design for sexuality. So the "that's just the OT Law argument doesn't work.
3. You are probably right that some groups isolate it too much from other sins...but the fact remains that God HAS determined what is sin, and homosexual acts are one of them. Each age of the church must address error when it presents itself...in the early church it was arianism, currently, it seems to be homosexuality...perhaps in 1000 years we'll all be talking about women's head coverings? Who knows?

I find it interesting that the church is called "wicked" for calling sin a sin.
As Ann said, the thread was not removed, but stopped because of you. You were only interested in your diatribes and refused direct debate with others. That smacks of activism and is the actions of a troll, like it or not. Pull the beam out of your eye before getting the speck out of ours. You can here in an accusatory manner and were very rude. You were answered respectfully and truthfully in the very beginning, yet you did not reciprocate. As usual, you are excusing your behavior just as you do others. Grow up.
