High priest as a witness

Matthew 26-64

Jesus saith unto him(high priest of verse 62)Thou hast said:nevertheless I say unto you(high priest again)Hereafter SHALL YE SEE the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power and COMING IN THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.

The High priest of Christ's day was a witness just as jesus made known to him he would be of The Coming of jesus in the clouds of heaven.

you can try and pick this apart and reject it--but its evident that Jesus came again in that High priest lifetime and that Generation when it was spoken.

Jesus said HE WOULD SEE IT !!! Jesus has already came back and we are missing it just like the jews missed it when he first came in the flesh--as a whole we are no better than they were they rejected him--and so does this generation--how sad that we cant receive instead of reject God's own words.

I saw this one verse in particular: Daniel 7:13. So I read all of Daniel 7 and here is Daniel 7:13-14.

13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Here, this reference to Jesus seems to be saying that He is approaching God's presence IN heaven "coming with the clouds of heaven" and is being given all authority, glory, and sovereign power there.

It sounds triumphal and it says that all nations and people are there worshiping Him.

To me, and someone correct me if I am wrong, this is not the return of Jesus, in the clouds, to earth. It's another "cloudy" event.

Perhaps when the high priest acted so ugly and demanded that Jesus explain whom He was - well, Jesus did. It seems to me that Jesus told them that there would be another judgment day - when He was the Judge and the REAL High Priest. And He told him that there would be a day where he, the earthly and mortal high priest, would see it for himself - a day where Jesus, "coming in clouds of heaven" (IN heaven) would be presented before the "Ancient of Days" and be seated as His right hand and having the authority to judge not only the earthly high priest, but all nations there flat on their faces proclaiming that Jesus is God's Son.

To me, that's what made the high priest in the next verse so spitting mad.

Jesus told him that one day, because Jesus IS God and God's Son, that He would be the final Judge because He is the real High Priest.

I'm open to correction.

Then you will have Matt 24--when jesus says that that generation would not pass away till all these things(all Matt 24)be fulfilled.

I think you're on to something. If compared to Matt.24:30, "...and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory...." which appears to ref. the rapture,... the verses from Matt. 26 have Jesus sitting on the throne (sitting on the right hand of power) which is an image of judgment.

Those poor fellas back then never had a chance to listen to this prophet in their lifetime, yet Moses said they need to listen to him, or shall listen to him.

actually was deut 18-15 that you presented

what you are neglecting here is that jesus said before that generation in which he was speaking to passed away all would be fulfilled--all of Matt 24 was fulfuilled before that generation passed.

the passage you gave when dealing with the you in it is referring to Israel.
God would raise up a prophet from among the brethren of it.
unto the prophet shall you(Israel)hearken.
the you is very plainly Israel and Israel did hear the prophet that God raised up from among them and they rejected him.

The prophet did speak to the you and the you did hear him.

the city of Jerusalem was destroyed in ad 70--just as jesus said that it would happen in the text I gave above to the disciples--they saw it

The Gospel would be preached in all the world then the end--I gave you 2 scriptures that proved that was the very case in the same disciples time--it was fulfilled--and they saw it

jesus said himself that ALL these things(all of what he just said in Matthew 24)would be fulfilled before THAT generation passed--I just gave you 2 examples of this and they are more--some of the disciples were taken and killed like Jesus told THEM they would be and they was.

jesus told THEM when THEY SEE the city compassed with armies(happened in ad 70 FULFILLED)and he said that was the desolation Daniel spoke about so that was fulfilled

evidence is certainly there of these and all the rest friend.

Not at all. You're incorrect yet again. Perhaps your ME leanings have led you astray? Yes, this is certain.

Christ was spoken of here, yet you wish to take that from Him and to whom it refers.

Many more have concluded it is Christ here spoken of.
