To mock or not to mock

Is it right to mock another Christian with whom you disagree? Is it right for a Calvinist to mock an Arminian or an Arminian a Calvinist? How about a cessationist mocking a continualist and vice versa? KJV-only vs. non-KJV only? Too many time the debates get personal and nasty. It is no longer about the idea, it is about the person.

I think most of us have been guilty of this. I know I have. I don't justify it but condemn it. I have been working hard not to engage others I disagree with after that manner. I am not saying I have arrived but it is my goal. I think if we can leave all the name calling, insinuations, belittling and mockery out of our posts it will improve our discussions. I am trying to do that and I hope others will also.

I don't consider identifying a doctrine or position has "heretical" or "erroneous" to be wrong.
