'Boredom' was not the reason behind Chris Lane's murder

The mischaracterization of the alleged violence by Chancey Luna, Michael Jones and James Edwards began when one of the trio claimed they had hunted down and shot dead Australian Chris Lane because they were “bored.”
The statement is so devoid of humanity and so headline-ready that the media seized upon it as a literal and complete explanation for why these three accused killers acted so inhumanely.
But the statement is a smokescreen. Boredom—of the kind sane people experience—had nothing, whatsoever, to do with Lane’s death and explains nothing about how it happened...

...My 20 years as a forensic psychiatrist tell me that, in all three cases, it will be found that traumatic life events, perhaps coupled with head trauma, drug use and disordered brain chemistry from birth, left these young men detached from their own thoughts and feelings – and those of others. I would venture that on August 16, 2013, more than one of Chris Lane’s assailants was, for all intents and purposes, psychologically dead.
That’s why one of the three alleged assailants said they killed because they were “bored”—because his very disordered mind was like an echo chamber that allowed his feelings of being annihilated, dehumanized and dead to boomerang back to him as an impulse to kill.

There are a lot of both white and black people who understand the truth of why this happened. It was racially motivated.

This article below - from CNN International - reveals a couple of the tweets of one of the teens and how he described his hatred of white people and his sister admits he had gang related older "friends" and didn't know if he had joined. I felt sorry for her when she tried to pull the "but a lot of his friends are white people" notion. If you tweet that you hate white people and then you kill one - who your friends are is irrelevant. But she is his sister.

But as revealing as this is - go down to the comments by many black people (their avatars are there) and see how many of them "get it".

I think the white and black people who don't get it, or won't admit it, or who want to rationalize it away are in the minority, but seems like they are in the majority because they squawk the loudest.

But white and black people who understand that these things are fueled by hate don't get air time. But they are there and I feel represent the majority.

The question is - what are black and white American Christians going to do about this?

I'm not black, I'm not white, but when a kid says he did something because he was bored, I get it.
He's a gang member, and he's a black gang's member, and the jargon in a black gang is predominantly anti-any other color but black.
Now, the question is why is he in a gang ?
The answer is he's most likely living in a home which is not a home. Just an empty shell of a house.
No parents.
A mother or father, or both, out of the house all day for various reasons be it working hard, just plain jobbing it, or somewhere in the hood gossiping, or themselves shooting up, or maybe getting drunk.
Parents who when they come home flop into bed, or the sofa, or the floor, too tired from working, or too stoned and too spaced out from drugs, or alcohol.
A house almost always filled with tobacco smoke, reeking with liquor, or just plain lifeless.
Parents who scream at each other, who feed them breakfast or dinner with four letter words hurled at each other.
A home which is not a home, a life which is no life.
Who wouldn't blood in with that kind of life ?
So the kid runs around with gangs, most of whom come from the same background, and they hear all these sh**y talk about offing whites, and they got nothing better to do, so they hop on to their cars and shoot down any dude.
Happens they chance on a white dude, shoot him, and laugh it off, and experience their first kill.
I get it.
Don't ask me why I get it.

The enemy is out to start a race war and it behooves me why the Body of Christ keeps falling hook, line and sinker for it?

This is not a white or black thing as people on the left and right keep attempting to make it. And I must say, a lot of those same folks are on this supposedly CHRISTIAN board.

It is pure WICKEDNESS pulling this stuff into the Body when it is not something with which we should be involved , at not least from a political and social ideology way as some on this board keep attempting.

Preach the Gosepl of Jesus Christ that tells of His love for ALL. Be known for THAT rather being known as people for or against some issue.

I'm angry that anyone would paint the parents without knowing anything about the situation.
Some kids are just evil.
Some have mental illness.
Some just do what they want despite the best parents.
Some have the worst parents and turn out awesome.
Some have the best parents and turn out horrible.
Everyone has a choice, whether they turned magic 18 or are still considered a child.
Maybe they were raised by someone else for some years. Maybe they were adopted from an abusive home. Maybe they weren't.

Don't sit there and put anything on a parent without knowing the background. Maybe the parents were screaming for help and nobody helped them. Maybe they got on that wonderful one to two year wait in Oklahoma to get their kid mental health help or insurance denied it. Maybe they tried to report they needed help and were told "if you're telling us your child is making your home unsafe and you can't handle it, we'll have to charge you with neglect for the other kids being in the home." THAT HAPPENS.

Maybe the parents were just scared to death of the kid and trying to get help and couldn't, didn't know how, were trying.

And maybe they were just terrible parents, but the thing is...you don't know that and you can't sit here and say they were.

Why on earth is bad parenting "most likely?" Most likely, a parent's LAST method is to let their kid run wild. Nobody looks at their kid and hopes they are into drugs or a gang and even the craziest of parents are more likely to fight for their kids not to make the same mistakes the parents did, even if the parents are actively making the same mistakes.

You've bought into the government/psych mentality of blaming parents for everything.

Put the blame where it goes. The people who committed the crime. Who did the bad stuff. Who chose to do it. They knew what they were doing.

So yeah, get down to basics and figure out why people join gangs and all that. That's good. That gets to it.

But in the meantime, don't point the finger at anyone but the finger that belongs to the person that pulled the trigger if you're looking for someone to blame for the dead body.

Born, raised and educated as such.
My uncle was a member of this and that Catholic fraternity, another is a retired parish priest, my paternal grandfather (from Spain) was about to become one when he saw my gorgeous gramma.
Was altar boy, then choir member.
kissed the archbishop's ring and genuflected at every altar, hid in the closet for days in high school thinking the 'wrath of God' won't reach me there because I hit a priest in the nose. lol.

Stepped on all over. Both feet. LOL Yeah, it looks like it was racist. Agreed. Yeah, it's a horrible thing. Agreed. Yeah, society is going all sorts of crazy. Agreed. Yeah, we gotta figure out why people join gangs. Agreed.

But there is a mass effort to jump on parents as of late and blame them for everything and I've been on some stories going back and forth, so in the mode to jump on that.

Oh, and why do they join gangs, my opinion from what I've seen would be that they join gangs because G-d is taken out of society, civil rights are about eroded out of society, parental rights are gone, so who are they gonna turn to? It's a given. It's a wonder any teenager bothers to try to be decent. You can't walk into the door of half the schools anymore without drugs and violence and garbage all in your face, more of an effort at crowd control than learning.
They join because it's something to count on or because if they don't, they or someone they love might die (ie threatened into it or need to for protection) or not be able to make it without help.
