did he get credit for getting circumcision, for obeying the law, or what?
Wouldn't that be the same for us today with God?

Ah, my favorite verse.....
"And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." (James 2:23)
What did Abraham do? Abraham believed God!
It is all God ever asked us to do from Adam to present to future.
GENESIS 26 [3] Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, AND UNTO THY SEED, I will give all these countries, and I WILL PERFORM THE OATH WHICH I SWARE UNTO ABRAHAM thy father; [4] And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; [5] BECAUSE THAT ABRAHAM OBEYED MY VOICE, and kept my charge, MY COMMANDMENTS, my statutes, and MY LAWS.
Yeah, the same for us today
God chose Abram prior to his belief, not due to it later on. Nothing in the passage you misuse proves your fallacy. No wonder 'the church' is in such error with misinterpretations such as yours.
what Did Abraham Do to gain Approval of God? Is that the question I answered? Where do you see the word salvation?

Genesis 22:15-18 (KJV): 15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.did he get credit for getting circumcision, for obeying the law, or what?

Yeshua1 said:did he get credit for getting circumcision, for obeying the law, or what?

Oh, BTW Yeshua1:
Gal 3:17 What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.
18 For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.
The Law was given 430 years after Abraham was made righteous by his faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Law was completely unnecessary for Abraham to be made righteous.
