A user here named QUANTUMFAITH wrote me privately to call me a liar. He says I cannot be the 8th grader I represent myself to be, because I write better than most 8th graders.

I never thought my talent for writing could be used against me this way, especially by someone claiming to be Christian acting in love.

I'll find someplace else to seek the truth then, and I'll either pretend to be older or dumb down my posts.

Quantunfaith had no business doing that. It certainly was not their place and it was unChristian behavior. I am sorry that happened to you.

Well, if no one else is going to say it publicly, I will. QuantamFaith isn't the only person here who does believe you to be credible. I don't either and neither do some others, whose names I shall not divulge. They'll have to do that themselves.

I’ve taught 13 year old girls for 31 years. This year, I have 5 gifted ones. And when I say “gifted”, you have no clue at the intellect and ability. I’ve also taught 13 year old girls who are HIGHLY spiritually mature for their age having come from years of living with highly spiritual parents.

Having said all of that – I do not believe for one minute that you are a 13 year old girl who comes from a pagan home who is a recent convert and new to Christianity.

You have engaged in topics here such as Calvinism (claiming to have just heard of it 2 days ago), false doctrines, importing pastors, and you have discussed a tri-fold aspect to salvation.

If I am wrong, I will leave the Baptist Board. But when I saw your post about wanting access to the private forums, I sent PM's to three moderators to just "watch" you and have discussed your posts with a handful of others who also do not believe you to be credible.

Again, if I am wrong - I will leave. But if you are a 13 year old new convert and new to Christianity .........then I am a vampire bat.

Penny, you stated your church is Southern Baptist and yet believes in speaking in tongues. Interestingly, your church's website says nothing to give credibility for this. In fact, it appears to be a typical Southern Baptist church.

You also seem to have plenty of knowledge of doctrine for someone recently saved who comes from an unsaved, non-churched background. As a mother and former teacher, I have never, ever seen writing like yours from ANY middle-grade students, even from the "gifted" ones from very spiritually mature homes. Your manner in posting comes across as a middle aged man with some knowledge of the Bible, not a newly-converted young girl seeking friends.

I sincerely hope you are what you claim, but there are some very sick, twisted people who have trolled here in the past. We weren't born yesterday. When several long-time posters see the same red flags, we've learned to trust our instincts concerning troublemakers.

If you're for real, I'll gladly call the church you claim to attend and ask them so. But know this. Baptist Board is here for edification, debate, and fellowship between Baptist brothers and sisters in Christ. We do not take imposters and liars lightly.

Other than participation in threads or forums that are sexual in nature, I really cannot see what the issue would be with you being 13 or 130.

If you want to say you're 13 but are actually older, how does that affect someone else's posts unless people are speaking TO or ABOUT you instead of commenting about what you say?

Put me down as a skeptic that the poster A Penny, Saved is 13 years old. I'm the father of two boys, both straight A students. One is 16 yrs. old, the other is 13 yrs. old. Both are voracious readers and gifted writers. I'm well acquainted with the writing style of 13 yr. olds and Penny's style and tone strikes me as being too mature. One statement she made about wanting to go to church, but would be difficult "because I'm only 13 years old and won't have my drivers license for 3 more years" does not sound like something a 13 year old would say. Also Penny seems to make it a point to say she's "only 13" or "I'm 13 years old" way too readily.

I'm not going to go so far as saying it's impossible for this poster to be 13, but I highly doubt it.

I think we all had our suspicion but while this person may have not correctly represented themselves at the same time they did nothing to mistreat anyone which is more than can be said by others. Calling her a liar was not helpful and is over the top.

I agree. From her comments, I thought I might just be dumb for a guy in his 40's (I'm smart enough not to rule that out).

I saw through this the moment 'she' joined. If quaaff hit her with an email, good for him -- sort of, I mean at least he called her on it, but as a man, I don't see it wise to ever write to a minor of either gender. I'm also not certain of the limitations on BB and allowing minors to post here.

IMO she mentioned her age, gender and grade too often, and for a 'new' believer she gave up way too much info in her posts, wrote rather prolifically and showed more experience than a new believer. I saw it all as an affront and a defensive/offensive mechanism in order to (perhaps) unleash on others later.

Perhaps she should regroup and come up with a new moniker and make a new entrance.

I also found it quite imprudent for one to even SUGGEST a preacher on here (who is allegedly close to her in proximity) could help her (an alleged 13 yr. old female) via PM. That would one of the dumbest moves ever to do so.

Well, at least we can pray for her/him/etc. Perhaps, after all, in His providence, this was why she/he/etc. appeared in our midst?

Hey, there's some smart kids out there. My daughter is 14 years old and made the Honor Roll with Distinction each quarter last year. That means you maintained a 94+ average in every subject. She was the only student in her school to make these highest honors each report period.

She, along with about 20 other kids in our local district were chosen to actually write for our local newspaper.

My daughter wrote at least 3 articles for this paper, took many of the photos used, and helped in the design and layout. She is the girl on the left.

So, there are some smart kids out there, unfortunately Penny got ridiculed for being a "smart girl". That is a big NO-NO.

I don't believe that it was for being a "smart girl" but instead that she was posting with a theological knowledge that would be beyond a 13 year old who comes from an unchurched family who just came to know Jesus. I do not know of anyone over maybe 17 who would even slightly be able to discuss the issues as she has. Read through her posts and tell me that this is the posting of a brand new believer of any age who has had no Christian background.

I just went through and read many of her posts (but not all) and yes, she sounds way too experienced for a young person who just came to know Christ. She does have an astounding knowledge of many issues that new Christians rarely have, especially young persons.

I don't know why someone would want to pretend they are such a young person, but who knows?

I didn’t see much theological knowledge being stated by this poster. She seemed to ask questions and be concerned with issues that many viewed as beyond her age. It is possible that she was legit - perhaps as an avid reader she explored the BB – although I doubt it. One wouldn’t expect a new Christian to question “importing” pastors vs. developing internal leadership. She seemed to articulate beyond what would be expected a 13 year old girl (or 23 year old boy).

No innuendo is necessary. Just take it a face-value.
