What is "Dr. Riplinger's" doctorate in? What is her education in textual criticism?

Off-hand I think she has a MA in Home Economics.

    Perish the thought!

Erasmus never left the RCC. Unlike another mod here claims,he was not really a virtual Baptist. :)

So you believe in vernacular translations Mac? Glad to hear it. The KJV is not in the vernacular --so you must be an NIV,NLT fan, huh?

    I found this on A.V. Publication's website:

Hmm- now THAT is specific. I did a little more looking and it's apparently from Hyles-Anderson.

This is an argument from success, and it has nothing to do with the subject at hand. ("I knew Jack Hyles, and you are no Jack Hyles." :saint:)
In a word, baloney. Ruckman called great scholars of the Engllish Bible such as Dr. John R. Rice "idiots." Ruckman is a railer, and the KJV commands us to separate from such in 1 Cor. 5:7, a command you ignore when you praise him. So you are disobedient to the very Bible you seek to defend.
I'm a linguist in Japanese and a Greek teacher. This is not bragging, simply a statement of fact, like Paul saying "Paul an apostle." So I can tell you that Riplinger is no linguist, therefore her so-called research is worthless. Anyone who follows her data is headed straight for irrelevance.

For just one example, she tears apart Thayer's lexicon--but no one in my field uses it anymore, no translators, scholars, Greek teachers or textual critics. It is so far out of date (1889) that it doesn't include any of the data from the papyri discovered in the early 20th century, 100 years ago or so!

... the same man and college that gave a honorary doctorate to John R. Rice's horse, which (if I recall the story correctly) promptly left a smelly "thank you" on the platform indicating it's true worth.

    We report, you decide:

    From http://www.kjvonly.org/bob/ross_rice_reply_to_fuller.htm

After Hutson's death, Hyles announced a Pastors School for March 18-21, 1996 at which he would, in effect, beatify the King James Bible and indict, convict, and sentence all other versions. He called it "The Trial of the Century!" He also decided that Mrs. Riplinger should be elevated to "Doctor;" and since he had years ago given a similar "degree" to Dr. Rice's horse, named MacArthur, I suppose Hyles figured that if a horse deserved such a degree, it would not be below his standards to give one to Mrs. Riplinger.

    From http://sharperiron.org/filings/1-24-13/25994 :

I was at the '78 Pastors' school - The one where Hyles gave John R Rice's horse, MacArthur, an honorary Doctorate. Upon receipt, the horse defecated filling the arena with the smell of horse manure.

    It was a life-changing event!
