Devils are getting more aggressive as the return of Christ approaches

With yesterdays massacre and with the great many of these that have happened since the major one in 2007 at Virginia Tech and people getting so used to these, it is obvious that devils (whom are probably behind every massacre) are getting more aggressive as Satan himself wants to change this country into what many places in the Middle East are. He wants this country to be a war zone, and he wants more control. I just have to wonder what will happen next? What do you think will be the next big thing that someone will do and that the devils will help inspire?

Perhaps people will grow more open the Occult and the supernatural as they are in Africa, the Philippines, among other places. I have heard missionary accounts that anyone here would call one crazy over, but the people there believed that the devils were involved. I mean a story of a bunch of birds being possessed and crashing into a barn. Stories of strange noises coming from somewhere but nothing being there, etc.. Whats next?

I would be careful trying to read to much into these things. Man is fallen, this world is corrupt even without any direct intervention from Satan. There are not ghosts, gobblins, and devils behind every evil in the world.

Agreed!! We have one guy we're counseling that calls up and tells us how much the demons are getting to him making him do things he doesn't want to do. Umm - guy, it's called "sin" and it's YOUR fault - not the demon's. YOU are the one you need to fight.

I do believe that there are “powers” under the surface of what goes on in our world, although I would question this as demonic activity beyond what consistently occurs. I wonder if many in Europe had the same feelings when they experienced such a decline towards the faith and such an embrace of immorality. While I suppose it is natural, I think we often see ourselves as the “center” of God’s plan. America is no longer a center for Christianity and I believe that we will see the faith arise more prominently in places such as Africa.

The Bible tells us we have three enemies, Satan (and his co-horts) the World (with its corrupt value system) and our Flesh (with its appetite for ungodly desires.) If we assume this gentleman, the shooter, was a mental defective, was it the result of powers outside his reach, or did he, like all of us, feed the monster of ungodly behavior.

The World might have told him it was ok to do violence toward those who "disrespected" him. I am not well educated, but when others point it out to ridicule me, my response tends toward tit for tat, rather than doing good toward others.

It appears this gentleman was overcome by darkness, and those of us who may have encountered him before he was fully deluded need to think about others in our midst.

Indeed so, but how do you know devils are not behind certain attacks such as the one yesterday? he had the desire to murder others, and the devils helped empower that desire. Also during the millennial reign of Christ with satan being out of the way, unbelievers will still sin. But to what degree and how will things be different?

Demons cannot make anyone do anything, however they can empower someone to sin more greatly.

Indeed so. His desires were fulfilled by the devils that lived inside of him. I am not going to blame psycho-babble for the crimes, but put the full responsibility on his sinful flesh and the devils.

Bingo. This post nails it. Every time there is a disaster or a horrific story folks tend to think it is something unusual. Just a cursory look at history will tell us of wicked actions of men that dwarf anything we have seen in the west for the last 50-60 years.

Except, of course, the horror of abortion that kills millions every year. Even that is became wicked selfish man acts wickedly and selfishly.

I am very skeptical about using man made standards to predict the return of Christ. Yes the Bible gives signs. One is an increase in earthquakes. There are hundreds of articles that show how earthquakes have increased in number and intensity over the years. Is that the case, or has our technology and science allowed us to detect them more as more over the years. I go with the second choice.

The opening post mentioned the shooting at the Navy yard. Yes, it is horrible and evil. No doubt about it. However, man has been evil since Adam. How to modern day tragedies out do:

Hitler killing six million Jews for no reason
Stalin killing over 20 million citizens because they were the opposition
The way we as Americans treated the Indians, African Americans, and Japanese citizens during WW2
The Lord only knows how many have died from the brutality of Red China, Cambodia, and Vietnam
In the Middle Ages, the slaughter of human beings in the name of religion
Burning witches at Salem in 1692
Those who have been martyred for Christ
Calvin and his burning and torturing those who did not agree theologically

There are too many examples of murder since the first one with Cain and Abel to mention. The point is, evil is evil. Each and every atrocity was not covered by CNN and FOX news with graphic detail until as of late. We have been and always will be an evil race.

I suggest each of us keeps their eyes on Jesus, tell others about the Gospel until He returns in His own time, probably centuries after every poster here is long dead.

Well it may indeed be demonic but to be honest we do not know for sure. I am open to that possibility and also the possibility that Satan wants Christians to think he does not exist, and that devils are not at work in this world. refer to the book and the chapter on Spiritual Warfare called I Never thought I'd see the day. The book does describe how indifference & ignorance are weapons of satan.

Very good words of wisdom. However I expect him to come back in the next 50 years.
