DeLay Conviction Overturned

It is interesting that the court found the evidence was legally insufficient to establish and sustain a case against him. The appeals court ruling was pretty direct about its thoughts of the original prosecutor.

I'm not a terribly big fan of DeLay, but politically motivated legal action is bad form.

Good. The trial was a farce put on by a partisan liberal Democrat under the direction of the DNC's own action committees that use "soft money" to finance adventurist forays into state and federal courts to attempt to bring down "dangerous people" like Tom DeLay. Dangerous, in that he actively opposes the liberal agenda. Guess that makes me dangerous, too.

If I had my way, this self indulgent, arrogant slob would be on a chain gang for the rest of his life. He represents exactly what the Constitution does not.

That may be, but you don't get to make up evidence in order to put someone behind bars.

This is essentially where I've come down with it. The whole thing was a farce and it cost DeLay and his family a lot of money (which they had plenty of) to ward off a relentless prosecutor. Doesn't leave much hope in the system does it?

If DeLay didn't have the money to get good lawyers, he probably would be sitting in a cell right now with no way out. Money isn't supposed to be able to level the playing field against a malicious prosecution, but it worked here.

You don't even try to restrain your carnality sn. Your constant name calling is so over the top. It's a bad testimony. Even your friend RM has a polar opposite view on the subject. You're like a bull in a china shop.

You are correct. His money and being hard headed got him thru this. We need to keep in mind, so many in politics play the game this way. If you can't beat them at the ballot box, you make things up throw it out and if any of it sticks a little go after the person with all the lies that you have.

Dude. You off your meds?

Not hardly. I am thinking quite clearly. You on the other hand are a Republican apologist. Anyone who would post favorable comments about the Republican Congressional leadership in a positive manner needs to be on meds. Maybe you should make an appointment.

So you're ok with making stuff up to someone in jail?

If he is not guilty, he should be set free. If evidence was presented against him that was false, then those doing it should be convicted and sent to prison. I do not know if he was guilty or not.

I do know this, that the posters on this and other threads that sing the praises on the state of the present day Republican Party are anti-Constitutional, and have no interest in changing this country.

This is about the fifth time I have asked you to stay away from my posts and out of my face. That means shut up. You do not have one moral fiber in your being and do not have the moral authority to call out anyone.

You know man, if you don't like hearing from someone, just block them. Your blood pressure will thank you. :)

You know man, why didn't you call him out? He started it. No one asked you to comment. Blocking is his or my choice, not yours. If you do not like the comments, do not read them.

LOL! You are something else with your double-standards and fibs.

In the thread How to deal with pastor's wife... you had made snide remarks after I had made posts and you had none to that point.

In the thread Not Quoting you made snarky remarks about my post but you had made none prior.

In the thread Church membership you slyly said you would not have noticed my post except that EWF had quoted me.

Admit it, you are not being honest. You blabbered on and on about how you had put P4T and myself on ignore. You made reference to it so many times it was hilarious. Then you take me off ignore to bad mouth me every chance you get.

Follow your own advice.

S/N : "No doubt, in my total being, posts like I have made to these individuals are a symptom of a larger problem in my life." (6/14/13)

Yes, you caught me. I beat my wife, put cigarette burns on my kids, torture the dog, and flatten the tires on the preacher's wifes car regularly. I also go to nursing homes with a wrench and loosen the nuts and bolts on wheel chairs.

We'll all remember this, next time you chide us for calling people "bums".

LOL!

Here is what Ponco said to S/N on 11/28/12 :"Spouting off insults and making personal attacks doesn't come from any kind of moral authority."
S/N uses the phrase "You don't have any moral authority...to say such and such" over and over again with me and others. Yet he seeks to make the impression that he has the moral authority to rain down insults on all and everyone who comes on his wrong side. :)
