I'm thinking about purchasing a leaf of the Geneva Bible from a website that sells various pages from ancient Bibles. They use Bibles that are falling apart and cannot be saved (no pun). You can buy a page from anywhere from $49-over $100.000. I plan on getting a favorite passage for $79. Then I'll have it framed and placed in my office at home.

As there anything wrong with that? Has anyone on the BB purchased one of these?

    Thanks

As I am a bit of a bibliophile myself, I am sad to think the books cannot be saved....but I guess a page may be okay.....obviously you are wary of frauds and fakes?

Let me know if you go through with it, I would be very interested!

Hmmmm, so the pages are in good order, but the book has been destroyed.....oh yeah right, a book of this worth would be not beyond the skill of a book binder who specialises in this area, I would be inclined to get a damaged whole volume and pay for a rebinding.....oh well call me a cynic but....

No, there is nothing wrong with this .... the leaf itself isn't holy. It just a piece of paper.

As B-G said, I would be weary of fakes, but it sounds like a wonderful idea.

If the book is truly unusable (multiple pages missing, etc.) it's a good idea to display some pages as art. I'd much rather see that than see someone throw it in the trash can or burn it.

Think of the conversation starters.... "What's that on your wall?"..... "Let me tell you ......"
