I can think of a lot of words to describe my impression of California. "Exotic" is definitely not one of them.

One comes close, at least in sound: Quixotic.

I finally tracked down what the proposed divisons are.

    • "Silicon Valley" San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose extending to to Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. (I assume it basically includes San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Sant Cruz, and Monterey Counties.)

    • Southern California San Diego and Orange County

    • Western California Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Santa Barbara

    • Central California The Central Valley - Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley

    • North California Marin and Sonoma counties and the greater Sacramento area. (I assume it would also include Napa and Yolo Counties)

    • Jefferson The rural counties in far Northern California
For a map use this link http://www.mercurynews.com/business/ci_25195077/tim-drapers-plan-divide-california-into-6-states

Jefferson along with Southern and Central California are likely to be fairly Red. Though, Jefferson would lean Libertarian rather than Conservative.

Try the new one. It's got better maps anyway.
