It is obviously hyperbole, but the spirit is correct. I have stated that.
If you read and believed the Genesis account, you never would have made such a stupid statement. God promises us nothing peaceful or tender. You words are fantasy. They don't match up with scripture.

Yes, lately Crab has been listing many of these quotes: it would be good for him to link to the copy of the speech or better yet link a youtube of the speech.

There are still people who believe that Gov Palin said she could see Russia from her backyard

PS - and no - Crab - I do not think you are one of those.!

It was actually comedian Tina Fey, who was impersonating Ms. Palin on Saturday Night Live, who uttered the line that is now widely attributed to the former Alaska governor.

The basis for this line comes from a September 2008 interview with ABC News's Charles Gibson, who asked Palin what insights she had from her state being so close to Russia. She responded: "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

I was in Prague in September 2008 and did not see much campaigning that year. I missed the candidates in the debates and Tina Fey's performances as well.

but what people remember is the skit on Saturday Night Live when Tina Fey - portraying Palin - and said that famous line.

Note: NBC will not permit the skit to be on Youtube

Dishonest response. I said it was hyperbole.

Not at all. In essence you have said so in several posts in this thread. So far you have supported the use of the word, thus you accept it as good. Rape is never acceptable in any context whether it be about land, resources or people.

You're just being stupid, as well as dishonest. There must be a lot of hate in your heart. Too bad.

And you have STILL not told me what "subdue" means to you.

LOL. You're right. The word fits better here, than when Ann used it.

Hey your brilliance, you are the one arguing the proper use of the word. I just gave you a perfect example of "PROPER" usage!!!!!!
To quote ole Harry, "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen." Or to make it applicable to you, "if you don't want dissent, don't publicize your verbal diarrhea." :BangHead::rolleyes::D

Was it rape rape, or just rape ?:type:

I guess only Whoopi Goldberg know, because she's one of those "thoughtful" liberals. The kind the author of this O/P aspires to be.

One other point my EDUCATED friend - your drastically over-used "off topic" comment has become your version of "RACISM", that is so totally irrelavent due to the "boy crying wolf" syndrome.
Try to act like an adult (not age) in your responses.
Might(?) even get some rational feedback then!?!?!?

And he uses it like snake anti-venom. When he sees something that affronts his liberal/Marxist sensibilities, he feels compelled to condemn it's appearance, kind of like wondering if the snake that bit you is poisonous, and using the generic antidote just to be safe.
To act like an adult, he'd have to have the maturity of one. Oops.

Just wait until he whines about how Christians are supposed to be nice to him. A bad case of can-dish-it-out-but-can't-take-it-itis.
