In the case of the minimum wage, the only thing you need think about is that workers at the bottom of the economic ladder will get paid more. Period. Stop there. No more questions are to be asked. You simply declare that you are in favor of workers making more money.

The problems with this position are not evident until a step or two into the economic thought process, a thought process that is never pursued because it would make the good intentions problematic.

Actually many of them are not that dumb - they know how to milk the system - and part of the process is to vote in liberals who keep giving more and more "treats"

Because you do not have to think just feel.

Because you do have to be right or obtain any real results just have the right motive.

Thom Hartmann: How America Killed Its Middle Class

We're heading into a world that looks like a Charles Dickens novel.

    April 17, 2014 |

There's nothing "normal" about having a middle class. Having a middle class is a choice that a society has to make, and it's a choice we need to make again in this generation, if we want to stop the destruction of the remnants of the last generation's middle class.
Despite what you might read in the Wall Street Journal or see on Fox News, capitalism is not an economic system that produces a middle class. In fact, if left to its own devices, capitalism tends towards vast levels of inequality and monopoly. The natural and most stable state of capitalism actually looks a lot like the Victorian England depicted in Charles Dickens' novels.

That's another thing. Liberals like to re-define words. Like "capitalism". When most of them have never been alive to witness true capitalism, and surely cannot define it in a way that reconciles to what our system has been for quite some time.

Crony-capitalism is not capitalism. The failed "War on Poverty" is not capitalism.

When you and your extremist cronies learn what capitalism actually is come back and talk to us.

Yer a funny guy. Just because you've mistaken fascism for capitalism doesn't mean we all have. If we actually had a capitalist system or free market there would be no such thing as "too big to fail".

Ding! Ding! Ding! That's it. Liberals don't have to produce any results, so long as their solutions are borne out of what they think are good intentions.

What unfettered capitalism is a system which produces a Charles Dickens-like society of the very rich and the very poor with no middle class. You seem to think that's the ideal. I don't.

You continue to show you do not know what capitalism is or even what it does.

Here listen to Milton Friedman on this issue

Why don't you explain to us all what captialism is Rev? Better yet define "capitol" in four words.

I doubt you can do it.
