This book has never been refuted and as far as I can tell, no one has even attempted to refute it. C.H. Spurgeon after reading it claimed that he thought it was irrefutable. It is the most thorough and most documented treatise on this subject that has ever been written.

A.M. Wilson was a "teetotaler" and a Classical Greek scholar.

Wilson's book is now fully finished and can be downloaded at the above website. No one has ever attempted to repudiate it, simply because it is so thorough (over 1000 footnotes, 514) and is simply impossible to repudiate.

Might warn you that Wilsom's MO is consistently to present the best argument by his opponents while presenting his weakest argument first and then progressively working toward his strongest arguments last. Also, he uses a cascading effect, so that every chapter reinforces his arguments in previous chapters. A masterpiece in progressive overwhelming the reader with evidence.

This is not an obscure book. It simply closed the debate down that Fredick Lees, Stuart Moses, Professor Nott carried on between 1850-1870. Wilson was a noted Classical Greek Scholar. If you think you can or if anyone you know thinks they can refute, then go for it. I think you will end up doing what every grape juicer has done in the past, simply give up and hope it goes away.

No one cares that no one else has refuted any book for that matter or not. There is always a thousand reasons why no one has taken the time to deal with a particular book.

I have never debated my position on this forum, so what are you talking about? Anyone familiar with the issues knows that the grape juice interpretation of scriptures is primarily based upon a secular myth about unfermented wine primarily due to the abuse of secular sources by Dr. Lees, (Temperance Bible Commentary, Tirosh lo, Yayin, etc.) Nott, Richie and Stuart whose position is represented by Patton in "Bible Wines and the Laws of Fermentation."

If you would care to challenge my position, I would be more than happy to entertain you and you can see if I can hold my own or not. Unfermented wine is a myth that cannot be found in any ancient culture including the ancient Hebrew Culture nor in the days of the New Testament. "Yayin" and "oinos" are generic terms that include a great variety of fermented wines but never unfermented liquors of any kind.
