How is the word "appointed" hiding the predetermined aspect of God's selection
Asked and answered in post #54. " Chosen beforehand does not ignore "pro" but "appointed" is not the same as appointed beforehand.

In his last entry Van quotes me as telling him :"You claim that only 'chosen beforehand' presents the full message of God."

To which Van replies with the remarkable :"No quote will be forthcoming. a fabrication. Disinformation. Hate speech."

When you have said virtually the same thing in this thread a score of times (not counting scores of times in your other 'word study' threads)it doesn't take much effort to see that you are the fabricator Van.

But when doing word studies, the idea is choose a translation rendering as your understanding, that presents the full message of God.
Somehow Van will try and convince himself that he did not say the above.

Acts 3:20, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,

Here, the predetermined nature of the selection is hidden, but a literal translation, “the Christ chosen beforehand for you presents the full message of God.
The above is straight from the horse's mouth so-to-speak.

Did Van say what he wants to deny once or twice? No way --a host of times.

Rippon's translation choice is "appoint" which leaves "pro" out of the message, and my choice is "chosen beforehand" which presents the full message of God.
Your own words above Van.

For review. I had told Van:"You claim that only chosen beforehand presents the full message of God."

In response Van told me: "No quote will be forthcoming. A fabrication. Disinformation. Hate speech."

Don't ever dare me Van. Your own words condemn you. Fabricating things is what you do. Yet you try and apply it to me. It won't work. The evidence is overwhelming. Your "full mesage of God" routine is a sham and a shame.

LOL, did I say chosen beforehand was the "only" translation choice that presents of full message of God. Nope.

What about selected beforehand, or appointed beforehand?

Apparently Rippon does not grasp the difference in statements for whatever reason. Judge for yourselves.

Van, is the fabricator-in-chief. He sanctimoniously goes around proclaiming that his amateur renderings are "the full message of God" or "God's fully-intended message" over and over again ad nauseam.

If any rendering is not on his Van-tran short list he calls the renederings "slop" or some other insulting term. The translators het to be the recipients of his nastiness as well. His gall is incredible. But on he goes gathering his audience of none.

This compound word G4400, Procheirzo presents the idea of the hand of God influencing or choosing someone beforehand for His purpose. So “grasping beforehand” or already chosen or choose someone beforehand seems to be the literal meaning.

Lets look at the usage of this word in scripture:

Acts 3:20, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,

Here, the predetermined nature of the selection is hidden, but a literal translation, “the Christ chosen beforehand for you presents the full message of God.

Acts 22:14, And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth.

Again, The God of our fathers has chosen beforehand for you to know… preserves the predetermined aspect of the word.

Acts 26:16 But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you;

And once again, “to choose you beforehand as a minister… presents the full meaning of our word.

Why call this a thread? It just consists of you regurgitating the OP. Is it possible for you to present a new idea?
