A recent quote from John Kerry:

Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally, less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century.

What do you think?

All is well?

We're up to our ears in debt. we're waging wars and regime change efforts in half a dozen or more countries at once, we're funding and arming our own enemies then using the increase in their strength and numbers as justification to toss away the constitution and the rule of law and create a militarized national police force. The president rules with a pen and cell phone and congress can now be legally bought and sold by the highest corporate bidders.

So yeah John Kerry is right. All is well.

If you happen to be part of the 0.01% on the money making and power grabbing end of all that.

For the rest of us who have to pay for it all in blood, sweat and treasure? Not so much.

Last week Ollie North looked into the camera with the following (My emphasis)

Colonel North notes that the ISIS leader has instructed his murderous pigs to target “Christians, Jews, police and military families.” He notes that while Obama will be protected for the rest of his life, the rest of us won’t and it is going to take more than little pin prick airstrikes to defeat this enemy.

But one can see the spin here, the "last century" includes WWI and WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc, of the 20th Century.

So technically he is correct as we are only 15 years into the 21st century.

No, all is not well. There are well organized groups all over the world and right here in the United States just looking for half a chance to kill as many Americans as they can. The number one job of the US government is to protect the lives of its citizens. It is an outrage that politics is played on funding a department of the US government that is charged with that responsibility. That goes for both parties. As far as I am concerned, that is treason and certainly a failure to of their oath to protect and defend. If a few of these clowns were brought up on treason charges, I bet the political games would stop and governing would start, which is their job.

As far as Kerry goes, I think of him just like I did in 2004 when I did not vote for him. I guess the latest quote would be "All is well before it isn't.

I think that John Kerry desperately wants to be remembered as a successful Secretary of State and is willing to engage in spin for it.

That, or he just returned from a pot vacation in Colorado.

Pollyannaville, Colorado?

This is the most likely scenario.

I believe a coalition to defeat ISIS is in the making.

Does anyone have any idea how the U.S. is going to pay for all this war? You know, ISIS and Iran. Technically we've yet to pay the first dime on the Afghanistan war and the Iraq debacle (which incidentally, ISIS would not even exist if Saddam were still in power)?

Not sure that I understand... I do not think that it exists.

"Pollyanna" is a person of British fiction; a Disney Movie was made from the personage (see below).

British Dictionary definitions for Pollyanna

Pollyanna : noun
An irrepressibly cheery person; undaunted optimist
A person who is constantly or excessively optimistic

"one who finds cause for gladness in the most difficult situations," 1921, a reference to Pollyanna Whittier, child heroine of U.S. novelist Eleanor Hodgman Porter's "Pollyanna" (1913) and "Pollyanna Grows Up" (1915), who was noted for keeping her chin up during disasters.

Ok, you've got the funding all figured out, now how about the objectives? What are we out to accomplish in Iraq, Syria, and Iran?

Probably ought to toss Libya and Egypt in there too.

Sure, after we've brought them to their knees we will assist them in creating a democratic, peaceful and loving world caliphate.

Well we just ought to get started then! Let's print a pile of money, recruit/draft (whatever it takes) our kids and train them to kill, and send them on over there. Sounds like a plan. Then all should REALLY be well.

NO, NO, train them (AlQaeda) to negotiate. Give them jobs, food stamps, get them into the Islamic version of the Peace Corps. They are not so bad , they just need an education, better self-esteem, etc...
