There's a lot of of theological speculation as to the presence of America in end time prophecy when it comes to Israel. In six years, Obama has possibly been used by the powers that be (both intentionally and unintentionally) to move America out of the picture that many never thought could happen, at least in our lifetime.

If he succeeds in separating our two nations, should we take that to mean the second coming is nearer than once believed?

Should he drive the UN to take action against Israel on the Palestinian state, and defend Iran should Israel attack the nuke plants, will this be one more piece of evidence that America is no longer Israel's long time ally?

What do you students of prophesy ( both serious and non serious speculators) say?

    Well, he's not incompetent.

He's undone in six years what took decades to accomplish.

In regards to Obama's possible role in prophetic issues, one thing I am waiting for is when his term ends. We have seen some pretty crazy stuff in His administration and it seems to be clear this guy is going to do...whatever he pleases.

His acceptance around the world is clear, and this is exactly what I look for in Antichrist. His foreign policy has been, well...historical.

But the recent visit from Netanyahu shows that not everyone is interested in snubbing Israel. As a Christian, I think we need to be careful to remember that Israel is currently not Israel restored, but is largely secular from a practical standpoint. That means we do not give Israel a free ticket, but at the same time we do not neglect the fact that from a secular standpoint Israel is an ally. And while this is not a matter for the Church, it is certainly a matter for our country, and those relations will without question play into an eschatological scenario.

All I can ask is anyone who did not vote in the last election because they do not feel that we, as the Body of Christ, need to be involved in secular issues, is can you see how positive influence in the White House for Islam, even radical Islam...has had an impact on the entire world?

We are not voting for a Pastor or a Deacon, but for the one that will head this country and have an impact on how we, as the Body of Christ...are able to minister. What will it take to get your interest? Will it have to wait until you are no longer free to go on a forum and speak your mind?

I have my doubts as to whether Obama is the Antichrist, but I will say I have not yet ruled him out. As I said, I am waiting to see, when his term ends, whether he will retain office. The climate in America, due to the powerful strides of many special group interests, is one in which we are raising a generation that might finish the "revolutions" of the sixties and seventies. When tolerance is a more significant issue than Justice and the Law treated as an optional playlist be assured that the guy that caters to such a populace will be empowered to change this country, and the world...in a dramatic way.

At the very least, I would suggest that Obama has paved the way for Antichrist, setting a precedent in a President.

The strength of special interest groups proves that the "Me Generation" has only just begun to arrive.

    God bless.

I think he is part of the End times. He's messing with Israel, who's God's favorite Nation, has removed the National Day of prayer, believes in same sex marriages and the list goes on.

I didn't see the OP asking if Obama was the Antichrist (I threw that in for free), but whether he will play into an end-time scenario.

I think he is doing that.

That our country has tolerated , not to mention elected twice, Mr. Obama, shows how a general public can endure the role of someone who I think will be very much like Antichrist.

This very fact is what makes me extremely pessimistic concerning the future of our country!!

I wouldn't over-worry the future of our country, because we understand that we, as the Body, live separate from this world and are not part of it from a secular standpoint to begin with. That does not mean we take ourselves out of the world, as Paul stated, but that as we find ourselves in a world that has always been hostile to God as a whole, we seek to impact the world by being available to God for that purpose.

I do not hold to a view that America was a Christian Nation and is losing that, but view America as a secular nation that had the benefit of having men who feared God and acted according to their beliefs. While many of them instituted a general platform of "Christian" influence, that does not mean that we have ever been a Christian Nation. That Nation will not begin until the Lord establishes His Kingdom here on earth, In that day we can truly say that a Christian Nation exists. Until then, we maintain a separation from the world, even on a National basis.

Don't mistake that as meaning that we cannot be proud to be Americans, and proud of many of the things we have accomplished as a Nation, but, just as there have been those in the "Church" which have not acted accordingly and brought shame on the Name of Christ, even so America has had her share of those that have brought shame on America. That does not mean that either the entire Body of Christ or America should be disavowed, we just place everyone in a proper context according to their works. The Jones, Koreshes, and Bakers thought to be associated with the Body of Christ do not overshadow Christ Himself, or the Pauls, Stephens, and Johns. Similarly, the Americans that have committed atrocities do not overshadow the American Soldiers, for example, who have given their lives purposely to save other's lives. They do not overshadow the good Samaritans that have stepped up to help their fellow countryman.

And the good and noble among us can usually be seen to have been impacted by Christ.

There is an American spirit that still stands tall, is noble, is good, and still remains in this country among her people. But there is a Holy Spirit that is in the Body of Christ, and the sad fact concerning the Church is that she...has always been a minority in the world. The true American spirit is fueled by the Holy Spirit, in my opinion. It is the Christian that makes this country great, and historically, from a standpoint that Christians are always going to be a minority until that true Christian Nation emerges in the Millennial Kingdom, we see that a minority can impact a Nation in dramatic ways. We see this same principle in special rights groups, where a handful of people have been successful to make great change in this country.

Do we say the Body of Christ has laid down on the Job? Perhaps, but more likely it is a matter of the Body of Christ failing to impact that sphere in which each individual has been placed by God. It is more fair to say that our impact on the Nation, as a minority, was once greater than it has been in recent decades. So even as it was when this country was founded, when a handful of people had an impact on the world which is still seen, even so we today can strive for that same effect. It begins with each of us in our personal relationship with the Lord, then extends to those relationships we each have in this world.

But again, don't over-worry the fate of this Nation. As the OP asks, concerning Obama's impact on eschatological matters, it may be, and is likely, that it is the Lord setting the stage in preparation for the events prophesied. When Christ came He had set a stage where Israel lay in bondage to the world system, and we should consider that when Antichrist arrives we will see similar conditions.

That is both unsettling as well as exciting. While events have taken place for years that might indicate the end of this Age is near, today we stand more closely to the possibility of prophecy being realized than any other generation before us. There is that which we can do as the Body, and that which we cannot. We cannot stop God's timetable and program, but we can still seek to be available for the roles He would have us play.

    God bless.

Then stop speculating and deal with what Scripture says for sure.

    More speculation.

    More speculation.

    More speculation.

    Stick with prophesy.

One could just as well speculate that over the last 6 years, it's been Netanyahu's action that have forced the United States to be where she is in history. Or maybe it's the actions of a Republican led Congress. Or maybe the US will disappear because of the actions of 47 GOP Senators.

This is just another excuse to blame Obama for everything from early childhood constipation to the errant flight of the bumblebees.

Point folks to Christ and let God handle prophesy.

There is a big difference between 'specific' predictive prophecy and prophecy as a sure and certain guide to the principles that will govern the world until Christ returns. The former has always failed to prove true in the end, the latter has always proven true. Men and women lust after a future 'timeline' of world events, we could discuss what all of those are but I won't mention them now. If the wheat and the tares are to grow together until the very end, both the kingdoms of the gospel and that of the apostasy will ever increase concurrent with each other. I submit that the works of President Obama fit the latter and are a clear fulfillment of it. But that does not mean we can predict a certain timeline going forward, we can only know that our redemption draweth nigh!

Sometimes we are too quick to judge the impact of a President. Some that were rated pretty high are now considered mediocre. For example Obama makes Bill Clinton look much better.

I know we are supposed to be afraid, very afraid that Obama's lawlessness will destroy the safe haven America has provided to Christians, but two more years is a short time before we have at least the opportunity to elect a more conservative person.

    Be anxious for nothing.

Dwight Eisenhower provided the American Public with the most important message possible when he said, "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military–industrial complex."

This was a warning to all but fell by the wayside by the average citizen as they simply didn't understand.

America is not run by the government we see and read about every day. Yes, they do their job..., I suppose or at least give the impression they are doing their job and working for us but..., Corporate entities actually control our government now. The very people Eisenhower warned us about.

Much talk lately about a Shadow Government. Well, that's for real. We're to the point now that America will either be a Socialist Nation (under the liberals) or a government of freedom for "we the people" by the conservatives all of which is being fueled by Corporations world wide. Either way, the President is but a figure head that writes Executive Orders to get his way.

Not enough American Citizens are concerned in much more than their next "HIGH" and/or their next government assistance check. America is in deep trouble and will never pull itself out of the muck and mire short of our Lord Jesus putting an end to it all. Praise the Lord for His Justice will be sure.

Why are we supposed to be afraid of that?
I guess everybody has to blame somebody. I just don't think the man has done nearly the damage for Christians that Christians have done for Christians.

I mean seriously, we were supporting a man who rejects Jesus Christ for President. What can Obama do to compete with that?
